First off im bored and was thinking this:think . I was reading about ppl saying floyd was WAY bigger than everyone he's fought and how he ONLY won fights because of that. Which is BS, and I dislike floyd but he is clearly the most skilled fighter today. Win or lose i dont think the size advantage really plays a big role. UNLESS your in the Heavywieghts! I've always thought he was 5'10. Some ppl say 5'11 and now i've been hearing people say he was really 5'9 and they just listed him at 5'10-11 to make him seem bigger. Its pretty amazing how short he was, and not always being the bigger fighter to stand against todays big Heavywieghts. He is Incredible glad Boxing got to see him. his size alone proves his greatness! how tall was he? Anyone know! your thoughts?
tyson was listed as 5 ' 11 and a half in the eighties.people questioed this, but hbo confirmed it as his exact height
I'd say Tyson was about 5'9" at the most. I stood next to him one time when he was an amateur and probably about 15-16 years old. I'm 6'1" and I was quite a bit taller than Mike.
If you measure someone in the morning, he will be up to one inch taller than in the evening. The vertebrae lose fluid during the day and for a heavy person, the diffirence is bigger, because of the added pressure on the vertebrae.
Larry Merchant said that they [HBO] measured him to see exactly how tall he was and he said that he actually is 5ft 11 despite looking smaller which he attributes to the chunky body type decieving you into thinking that.
5,9 Im 5,8 and took a video standing next to him...He's barely taller then me. Maybe 5,10 but no way 5,11
he gives the short and squat look, because he's built like a tank. 5'10- 5'11 is probably how tall tyson is.
