Nobody can run 10km per day? Where has that come from?

My dad (not an elite running just a good club one) ran 20 miles per day for long stretches, around 10 miles twice per day, ran a 2:25 marathon.

Here is Haile's training schedule from a while ago, which doesn't even look like an off season. In off season he'd lower intensity and increase mileage:

    Monday
    am: 60 min -- fartlek (17km)
    pm: 50 min (12km)

    Tuesday
    am: 70 min (18km)
    pm: 10km "easy" + 10x100m sprints

    Wednesday
    am: wu/cd + 48 min tempo (15km)

    Thursday
    am: 80 min (20km)
pm: 10km "easy" + 60 min in the gym

    Friday
    am: 75 min (18km)
    pm: 10km "easy" + 10*100m sprints

    Saturday
    am: 6*2km @ 5:40 min w/ 3:00 min recovery
    pm: 43 min (10km)

    Sunday
    am: 90 min (25km)

Elite runners run twice a day, an 'off day' isn't often a completely blank day but maybe 1 session or just an easy run.

I once drove my car 10 miles and I was exhausted, based on my experience it's impossible to run 10 miles per day.

I'm not much of a runner other than being forced to run with the woman now and then. But even I can admit with my lack of run skills that 2:25 for your pops is pretty damn fast man.

Marine buddy of mine does 8 miles a day 4-5 days a week easy.

That Griffith Park trail is no joke though. I tried it about halfway up from where Manny supposedly starts and it took me over an hour at a slow but brisk pace uphill. My lungs were on fire but thats how you get in shape.

It's not too hard to see him jogging that route whenever it's a few weeks out of fight day.

Many times he will get a bunch of other followers trying to keep pace with him and on bikes and scooters & stuff. It's like a scene out of Rocky 2 with cars honking and people cheering him on, but as he gets closer to the top he kicks it up to an INSANE level and leaves pretty much everyone behind. Then when he gets to the top he'll do some wind sprints sometimes. The guy is just an amazing athlete.
