He was taking a beating and it was obvious he only tried to survive. Shane said after the fight that no one ever hit him that hard and Pac even hurt him with short 6 inch punches. He said he was weary of Pacs power

He needs to quit the sport, he clearly just doesn't have it anymore and is slurring his words

I wish he had quit. To me, there is more dignity in admitting you are outgunned than there is in shamelessly running the clock down stinking the place out and then pocketing $5m.

This "fight" was a joke from the moment it was signed.Blame Mosley all you want, but almost everybody but Pacquiao's most devoted fans knew that it was truly horrible matchmaking.Mosley was coming off two dire performances in which he looked like a lost old man who had forgot how to throw a punch correctly.

Bob Arum is a crusty old ******* that needs to be taken away and locked up in a retirement home. He's too ****ing old to do anything anymore.Hopefully Pacquiao leaves this sport and retires, also.Sick and tired of him and Mayweather.

I refuse to penalize Shane or hold him in contempt for wanting to avoid the wrath of Pacquaio..hell, he had the right to preserve at least some of his remaining brain cells..and to go out at this stage of his career without sustaining any unnecessary punishment along the way...like when MAB decided to box safely the second time around vs Pac. A smart boxer has the option of not allowing himself to be the ritual slaughter victim for the crowd's bloodthirsty entertainment..and avoid maybe one day having to wear a helmet to keep from falling and hurting his head, and being spoon fed by relatives "whilst" sitting in a wheelchair, as in the tragic examples of the Quarrys, Denny and Phil Moyer and Gerald McClellan..all of which are available to be seen on video..that always elicit such sympathy and regret from all fight fans who see them.

It doesn't matter if he's 40 or whatever... If you sign a fight you ****ing come to fight... Mosley's not broke or anything like that. He isn't the fighter he was before but at least he could have not tarnished his name by giving a better effort. He wasn't boxing smartly... He was literally running for his life. What did he think was going to happen?

On one hand, if a fighter asks the fight to be stopped, one should err on the side of caution and stop it. On the other hand, sometimes fighters have moments of mental weakness, and if a trainer knows him well enough, and can see that his fighter isn't really getting hurt, he can try to do what Naz did. Mosley wasn't exactly getting badly beaten, he was just losing. Shane didn't say his head was hurting, which in that instance I would say definitely stop it. He said he couldn't move. But from watching the fight, he moved just enough that he wasn't getting hurt to the point where it needed to be stopped. It isn't as if he was asking for the fight to be stopped round after round after that. It was actually quite a slow paced, boring fight.

I actually liked that Nazim talked him out of quitting..."Its the end of your career", ie at least make it to the finish line then ride off in to the sunset. Even if Shane was stinking **** up, Nazim knew quitting would wind up being a regret for Shane.

Roberto Duran would beg to differ. If he could have gone back in time he would have gladly done anything to go all 12 against Leonard rather than quit. Even if that meant barely fighting.

Can't argue with these but I feel it's unfair to only think of Shane as the guy shitting in his pants against Pacquiao and not the warrior he once was. Some people like to put all the fault on Shane but it's also Manny's fault for not cutting the ring off from a 40 ****in old man and most of Manny's teams fault for wanting Shane after he looked like pure **** in his last two fights. Shane is putting needed criticism on himself for fighting on as he should've retired after Margarito.

All these old ****s and midgets circulating around the Welter division really puts the sheer uninspiring mediocrity of Margarito, Cotto, clottey etc into perspective.
