By duck, do you mean decline an offer from Top Rank and then go to right to Golden Boy and try to make an offer of their own?

Stupid move by Winky. He was offered a good payday, and most likley would have won.

Activity fighters are all wrong for Winky just look at the Williams fight, and also you see how bad the pillow fist fighter in Sam Solimon, In a fight I though Winky got a gift decision btw, made the prime Winky look. Imagine what would happen, when he fought an elite presser figter in Marg , Margarito would ud him.

Winky was good but his best wins were against blown up fighters, I view him as a cherry picker that badly over priced himself for the big fights, he has not one but to blame but himself of how his career turned out, he was never elite and would have got exposed if he fought a prime De La Hoya or Forrest.

Can't see Margarito beating Winky. Just two skilled and would not stand in front of him. Plus he took Vargas and Shane's bombs easily

 

I couldn't see Sam Soliman beating Winky, but he whipped his ass.

Name one elite fighter Winky beat that he didn't have an advantage over since they were fighting out of their weight class.

 

WHile I would favor WInky to win, It's not a complete shutout.

As someone noted, WInky's achilled heal is volume. Paul Williams beat him clearly with volume, Sam Soliman made their fight close with his. And Margarito, at the time, was a very good volume fighter. He makes guys throw more then normal due to his activity. And Winky isn't really a mover, he's more stationary with the high guard.

 

that would only make it interesting late. he dominate 1-8 then maybe get a little hurt towards the end.

 

Marg would kill his body, with Winky using the high guard. Winky also wouldn't be able to push him around and walk him down since they are about the same size, bad matchup all around for Winky IMO.

 

Whether or not Winky would have beat these guys, he did some major ducking.

Exactly he has made a career of ducking by over pricing like he was an exciting fighter or some type of draw, then cries sheep to the public how no one wants to fight him, he ducked Mayweather also by over pricing.

Marg would KO Winky, if Marg was able to walk through, Manny, Shane's and Cotto best shot, and not even flinch, how could the pillow fisted earn Margs respect. It's not like he was a mover in the ring, he was a fight in a straight line fighter that only threw jabs and straights.
