the cable business changed a lot since 2007. There are more cable companies and new laws put in place in regards to the service provider industry 2008-2011. nothing to protect customers quite the opposite how that plays into the #'s for ppv events I don't know but it is always more difficult when there are more companies involved and everything not streaming directly through one office. we will find out soon.

They aren't hiding the numbers. I guarantee the ppv did well. At least 1.2 mill.

showtime is a wholly owned subsidiary of CBS, a public corp.

CBS has to file quarterly earnings reports, and according to GAAP, that would include earnings from their subsidiaries.

Being that they have not yet filed their earnings, they may be keeping it hush-hush for market reasons.

However, it will not take months to figure out as some of those here are trying claim, as Q2 ends shortly.

Not sure if you're bein' serious (honestly :p), but IMO, it's lookin' like it.

I mean not always for the p4p best, but used to 450 K used to be a "good" number, and they'd release it.

    *******s in denial.

There a reason why they were letting the fight be bought days after the event happened to try get as much money as they can get.

The fight bombed, if it was pac's biggest ppv they would be shouting it from the roof top.

quote from arum days after the fight

Bob Arum, the chairman of Top Rank boxing, said he believed the pay-per-view buys from Manny Pacquiao’s defense of his welterweight title fight against Shane Mosley last Saturday would match or exceed the roughly 1.2 million buys for Pacquiao’s previous fight, against Antonio Margarito.

This is significant because the fight, distributed by Showtime Pay-Per-View, was promoted heavily by CBS, in what Arum viewed as the first step toward returning boxing to terrestrial television. A number around 1.4 million to 1.5 million, Arum said, would highlight the effect of the promotion on the buy rate.

Bob arum been in the sport long enough to know when he can expect to receive the final numbers. The fact that we ain't heard a peep out of him and it's been a month speaks volumes.

    *******s in denial yet again.

you just posted a link that says match or exceed 1.2M. Someone posted a link that rival promoters are saying 1.18M.

I dont think it did well and I would be willing to beat SERIOUS money that it didn't come close to PBF vs Mosely let alone exceeded it.

    I expect it did around 900k - 1 Mil

Mayweather and Pacquiao fought Mosley in two completely different contexts.
