No he doesn't. P4P rankings aren't determined just by who you face. They're determined by who you face and how you performed against them. Otherwise you'll probably have a Ricardo Mayorga at the top of your list. Despite what many people regard of Froch, the brutal truth is, that there is a lot to pick at when you look at his previous wins: - Pascal - fair enough, a good win. - Past-prime Taylor - was being outboxed by him for the majority of the fight. - Dirrell - I thought he [Froch] lost that night. - Past-prime Kessler - loses to him. - Abraham - just played the role of a punch bag for 36 minutes. Not exactly hard to look good against a useless guy like that. And now, he's about to make easy work of an old, weight-drained Glen Johnson to progress to the Super Six final, where in my opinion, he will exposed by Ward.
Froch isn't p4p, but it's a very, very good CV and he can be proud of his career whatever happens here on in. Even though I think the Kessler decision was a poor one (Kessler's accuracy was appalling, I seem to remember that fight proving to me that compubox could not be trusted) and I think Froch should be undefeated, the close shaves are worrying and I don't see how he beats Ward, who I think will be p4p. I write-off the Taylor performance, because I think Froch suffered from his amateur days nerves, which were notorious. That fight was a good experience for Froch, and he doesn't seem to have any of those concerns now. Though I thought the Dirrell decision was the right one, it reminded me of Calzaghe BHop - the right winner, but I was left convinced that the loser was the better boxer and would win a rematch handily. For me, the consistent level of competition means he deserves all the credit he gets. Taylor and Pascal either were only just past or about to be good world champions. The Abraham code was already cracked, but Froch still beat a world-class operator. Dirrell has a lot of talent. Johnson would be a good win over a salty vet who has always been top five no matter the division. But Ward is the step up to genuine elite level.
well he is a brit, so that means all he needs to do is have a decent win and be popular to make the hall of fame. ask mcguigan (brit citizen), turpin, and unfortunately calzaghe in the near future. btw, froch is exciting to watch and a real fighter. if he beats johnson, i think he deserves to be in the top 10.
