Following on from the agenda driven, ludicrous Why is it Bowe did better against Prime Holyfield than Lennox did vs Past it Evander post.

Here's another scenario using a similar [lack of] logic

    Holyfield went 2 - 2 - 1 with these guys

Tua destroyed them both combined within 49 seconds

Moorer was shot against Tua in 2002.

Old Holyfield was shot against Ruiz.

In the '94 Moorer fight, Holy had a collapsed left ventricle of the heart & a badly injured left shoulder, yet despite visibly being seriously ill & injured, i thought he scraped the decision. Their '97 rematch shows what a Holy who wasn't ill & injured could do to Moorer.

Also because Tua was a HUGE puncher, Evander really wasn't that big of a puncher. Good technical skills but not real heavyweight Tyson/Tua power.

Also because Tua had a huge punch, which Evander did not.

Moorer was completely shot in 2002, this win is meaningless

I'm not sure Moorer was completely shot against Tua and I'm not sure I 100% buy all of Evander's excuses (he usually has a couple for each of his losses). Holyfield was done by the time he got to Ruiz though, the Lennox fights were his last hurrah

It's more a case of styles make fights with those match ups imo

Moorer was not completely shot. He was only 34 and still had some decent wins afterward, including Jirov. If anything Tua's treatment of him hastened his decline.

Moorer was on the decline most of his career really.
I'd forgotten he even existed by 2002 (.. but on the flipside, I'm sure he's never heard of me :D).

Obviously Tua punched harder than Holyfield, and was still around his prime when he fought Ruiz and Moorer.

A combination of styles and the versions they fought.

The list of people who Holyfield did better against than Tua would be more impresive.

Lennox Lewis is the only one actually.
But Tua wasn't really fighting top fighters while Holyfield was in his prime.

Except from Holyfield being shot vs Ruiz and had a heart attack in the ring during his first fight vs Moorer which he still didn't really lose ,
Moorer was older against Tua than he was for Holyfield , and Tua punched him while he was down and one landed punch from Tua is worse than 2 from Roid.
Against Ruiz he did show his true worth as a true clean KO puncher.
Tua was just a much more devastating heavy than Holyfield ever came close to , and it's not just the Ruiz fight to support this claim.
To be honest , neither Tua or Holyfield ever beat Rahman , but Rahman may have beaten Holyfield if Holyfield didn't butt him , but since when does Evander not butting people ?
