Covering January-June. The only remaining big fight for this month is between Froch and Johnson.

Who is your FOTY for the first half of this year.

These are the significant fights that I can remember for the first half:

    Vitali - KO Solis
    Ward - UD Abraham
    Pacquiao - UD Mosley
    Martinez - KO Dzinziruk
    Donaire - KO Montiel
    Hopkins - UD Pascal
    Segura - KO Calderon
    Ortiz - UD Berto
    Bradley - TD Alexander
    Salido - TKO Lopez

My picks for the top 5 fighters of the year would be:

    1. Donaire
    2. Salido
    3. Hopkins
    4. Pacquiao
    5. Ortiz

    Who would be your pick?

i'll go with Donaire thus far because he did dethrown the TOP bantamweight of the division, Fernando Montiel

if he gets a fight with Mares and beats him, he's pretty much FOTY

non of those other guys can top that

what if froch beats johnson and ward and therefore wins s6? or khan beating judah and bradley, or if marquez beat pac? A lot can happen but at this point its definitely donaire who also will win ko off the year for sure.

Ortiz's win over Berto was better than Pac/Mosley in my opinion.

I voted Hopkins, but I forgot the Donaire fought this year. I kept thinking the fight was in November with all the other great fights then.

they are about equal to me as Berto is ranked #4 while Mosley is ranked #5 WW but Pac's win over Mosley was more dominating than Ortiz's win over Berto.

There are no clear frontrunner right now for FOTY primarily because Donaire-Mares is not a given. Who knows if Donaire even fights this year. If Donaire does not fight anyone significant this year, it would be an open race between:

Pacquiao - Mosley UD / Marquez
Vitali - Solis KO / Adamek
    Ward - Abraham UD / Froch-Johnson winner
    Froch - Johnson / Ward
    Martinez - Dzinziruk KO / Chavez-Zbik winner

even though what Hopkins did was amazing and he made history, if you look at what is more impressive knocking out Montiel in two or beating Pascal by decision, I'd say it's a no brainer. What Hopkins did is amazing because of his age, not because it was amazing in itself.
