For me it has to be Nigel Benn VS Gerald McClellan. In the first round where Benn looks to be out-cold on the ropes while he takes BOMBS from a hard-hitter and then is knocked out of the ring, to climb back in and fight on, with such intensity and aggression. Both guys just take and give BOMBS through-out the entire fight, and the brutality of this fight is multiplied by the very unfortunate outcome that Gerald McClellan faced. From what I remember, he went into a coma, and when he awoke from it, he was blind, 80% deaf and was unable to do things unassisted and I believe he lost his memory. A sad story that just highlights the dangers that boxers put themselves it without any due respect. I also think of the beating Amir Khan took, only to still be hated on because he "Should of got knocked-out" just highlights the utter bull**** from many boxing fans these days... I don't believe boxing is a dying sport, I just think, along with many boxers themselves, it is just severely under-appreciated!
People overlook the damage Benn sustained - broken nose, broken cheekbone, fractured jaw, fractured ribs, swelled hands, urinated blood for three weeks, shadow on the brain on x-ray, and passed out with exhaustion on way back to dressing room.
I didn't place any sole blame on that now did I? Don't jump to conclusions man. It was a fantastic fight, but the amount of CLEAN rabbit punches Benn landed was absolutely ludicrous and I think that's a universal given.
And to suggest arm punches from no room or leverage in the clinches behind the head could cause a severe head injury with gloves on is just plain silly. Especially considering NIGEL BENN was landing a multitude of flush power shots in every round.

Harrison v Haye, that 1st round in that fight that cost me 15 pounds was so brutal to my eye i nearly had to look away.
