I see a lot of guys that have been knocked out or knocked down a few times, but get the term glass jaw. Khan got ko'd once. Judah got ko'd silly way back in 2001 or 2002, and lost by tko to Cotto, whom was known for having power. Kirkland lost just recently and got knocked down 3x in the first round. Paul Williams just got his first knock out loss of his career. What constitutes a glass jaw? Does it just take one knock out loss or a few knockdowns to earn that title? I don't recall Berto or Vic the Brick Ortiz get that title and they both touched the canvas twice in their fight. Somebody school me please. Thanks.
There are a variety of indicators of weak punch resistance, or a glass jaw. If a fighter gets knocked cold, particularly by a light puncher, or someone with a built up record, they likely have one. If it happens more than once, they almost certainly do. Generally speaking, the quality of the knockout counts more than the quantity. When guys with glass jaws get knocked out, they typically get knocked out COLD.
I'm not sure if I would go that far, but they are a lot closer than most people would likely be willing to admit.
