Hell, Hopkins could get out of his rocker at 80 and give anybody a tough fight...but still lose (probably). :yep I'm really not seeing Pascal or Froch or anybody else knocking him out. It's just tough to envision him matching the work rate of some of these young bucks enough to keep the judges on his side anymore.
Thought this was a good time to bump as Froch just had a well earned UD over a former LHW mainstay. More thoughts?
Hopkins can definitely school froch, I think he would have more trouble vs direll or ward then froch.
He'd school Dirrell as well, more easily than Froch. Now, Hopkins vs. Ward - that is one to seek your teeth into. :think (all of the above applies to Dawson, too. I think he beats Froch and Dirrell - despite the sparring session legend...remember Mayweather-Spadafora? - at either weight, but is 50-50 or worse against Ward).
Hopkins would beat Froch like he owed him money. Hopkins would beat Froch so bad, his kinfolk in Germany would feel it. Froch can't box, and he would be completely dismantled by a master boxer like Hopkins at LHW. I expect Toney, if he were able to get to LHW would also defeat Froch and my main man, Jirov too. In fact, of them all, I'd like to see a match up at LHW or some catch weight between froch and Jirov. That would be exciting!
Pascal and Froch are not similar. Pascal likes to use constant lateral movement, Froch is mostly stationary. Froch has no defense he would get eaten up by Dawson's right jab and right hook.
that's the problem, his biggest purse will arguably be against Ward. that figure is rumoured to be about $2m. Prior to that, he was picking up about $700k for his S6 fights. I think Froch will need 4 more money spinning fights in order to be financially secure, and 2 of them need to happen in Europe.
Cloud would overpower Froch and that leaves Froch boxing which he doesn't master. Dawson would steal the fight against Froch by using skills and legs. Hopkins would simply outclass and outthink Froch all the way and make him look from a league below, sorry to say.
