It was close though, I scored it 115-113 Johnson.I would not complain a draw. Everytime a fight is close, Johnson loses the decision. I thought the showtime annnoucers were biased because Ward-Froch sells much better than Ward-Johnson.I saw a different fight. I like the guy that pressures and lands the real hard shots. Froch was flashy, throwing these combinations, but a lot of shots were pitty pat and blocked. You gotta look closely. This was little bit like Leonard-Hagler. Johnson body work was less flashy but very effective. Although his jab to the body. Most of the time, judges overlokk things like that.
Im sorry to say this but there is no way you can justify Johnson winning the fight... Froch was the ring general in this fight, controlled the distance, countered well, landed more combinations, weathered any storms, dominated segments of the fight Do you not regard any of these qualities?
I think people look for ways for Johnson to win a fight these days due to him being 'robbed' so many times... They are desperate for the man to get that big W so they will find any possible way of scoring a fight for him. Froch clearly one this fight but yes Glen had moments... Froch pulled away in the final few rounds and that was the difference.
Froch landed just as many 'flush' shots as Johnson threw more combos and landed more power punches and overall punches and overall 'outboxed' johnson. You're reaching man it was clear c'mon even johnson admitted Froch took him off his gameplan...........
I thought it was tight, I wasn't properly scoring the bout round-by-round but if it had came out a draw or gone the other way I don't think there could be any complaints.
From the 4th round on Carl kind of took over. I wont say he was in control cos Glenn was still hitting him hard and winning the odd round but it has to be said Johnson was getting beaten up in the last say 3 rounds.
It was probably harder for Froch than it should have been, but he clearly won the fight.True probably the bigger more eye catching shots came from Johnson but Froch throughout landed more leather. You've got to credit Johnson though even now he's still a hard nights work for anyone.
He actually is a better fighter than cloud, and not just because he beat Johnson clear than tavoris did. I'd say that Carl could beat him if he decided to move up.
I think if you had Johnson winning that fight its probably because you were wanting him to win the fight. Even Johnson didn't think he won.
