Im tryin to think how i could tip Froch in the final and im strugglin. What will he have on Ward?

Wards had all his fights at home, hes even had the refs allowing his dirty headbutting and quite a few elbows, hes basiclly had it mostly his own way from the start of this tournement. And as far as im concerned his only real credible opponant in this competition is Kessler. Wed already sussed out Abraham wasnt good enough for this competition.

But all that aside he did fight Kessler, did Kessler show some technique on how to dismantle Ward? I dont think we saw enough. Hows Wards chin? How much has that been tested?

The only thing i can say is Ward hasnt shown how he handles round after round of being stalked and roughed up. Thats not to say he cant handle it.

Im strugglin to see how Froch wins this fight unless he somehow manages to wear Ward down with grit and hard work but then Ward has good enough footwork and speed to be in and out of range before Froch can do anything, just like Taylor and Dirrell before their fights went to ****.

    I got a few...

-Not fighting on his home ground
-Not fighting with his own referree, judges
-Fighting with a referee who doesnt allow dirty tricks
-Taken the headbutt out of the equations

Froch needs to keep Ward from controlling the fight with his jab. How he does that, I don't know. Ward is very good, and very crafty for such a young fighter. Trying to rough Ward up won't work. Bika tried that and failed, and no one fights rougher than Bika. Froch needs to let the combinations fly and work Ward's body from the first round on, if he can.

Does Froch have a reach advantage over Ward?

Timing, accuracy and ring IQ are the keys to beat Froch. Ward has them all. I don't believe those who say Ward has a bad chin. He took some good shots from all of his opponents and that includes Miranda, bika and Abraham. Tough fight for Froch.

Froch could get a reach advantage at HW! his arms are so long that he could have stay in Nothingham and still jab Jonhson in the US!

I think Froch likes to leave his arms low, tempt an attack then counter but hes slow and tempting them into a punch to his face usually leads to a punch to his face. And Wards quick enough to do it then gettin out of the way again.

Im still unsure how Froch beat Dirrell and if Taylor wasnt a 6 round fighter hed of lost that fight too, Ward is in a similar enough role to go and out speed Froch. Maybe.

And yeah i know both Taylor and Dirrell lost but i dont think either were down to Froch,s superiority.

Well then if he can establish a jab he might throw Ward off a little. Abraham was getting through with some jabs early against Ward.

I am picking Ward to win handily though

Froch completely controlled AA with his jab, but has disregarded it before and since that. Due to the speed of his opponants in my opinion. Abraham is the only one hes faced slower than himself.

Im beginnin to sound a bit of a Froch hater, im not, im dyin for him to beat Ward and win this competition but i really cant see it happening. Unless Ward isnt half of what he seems to be but his opposition has been credible enough through this competition to dispell that.

Ward will always look very impressive against guys who stand right in front of him and allow him to dictate the tempo with his movement and handspeed. Once someone makes him fight an awkward fight, he simply struggles. There's no two ways about that. Look at how Bika made him look distinctly average.

Aside from that, when Ward throws his combinations, he squares himself up and is wide open for counters. I think the best punch for Froch will be the right uppercut.

Honestly though, I think this is a winnable fight for Froch. All he has to go is make sure he is active throughout the fight because, if he isn't, he'll look bad. If he is active, he will hurt Ward, put him on the backfoot and then the whole fight will change.

I had Dirrell clearly beating Froch, and Froch escaped Taylor by the skin of his teeth. But that said, Froch is a much better 'boxer' than when he fought those two. He's come a long way over the last couple of years. I'd take him to beat Dirrell in a rematch, because he'd fight a lot smarter. But I still can't see him beating Ward. Ward is nearly the whole package. Again, he should try to break Ward down from the body early. No one has tried that before, I don't believe.
