Boxing has had a resurgeance of sort since the Pac/Odl fight...Pac brought excitement back largely due to his atg talent and style.

Boxers on the other hand who tends to minimize damage as their priority in style can exhaust one's patience and eek out a decision on point without really settling much as to who has the more fortitude, heart, strengh, endurance in a 12 rounder...SRL would not have put out the Hitman in the fourteenth had it not been for the grueling 15 rounds pro matches.

In the recent fights, JCCJr. woulda knocked out a tiring Zbik in the later rounds, Maidana would not have lost to Khan (maybe)...etc...much wouldve been settled in the ring with a much more accurate assessment of skill and fortitude in the ring rather than on the judges subjective impressions...

you dont think boxers would pace themselves differently and a lot of earlier rounds would be slower and boring because of it?

Maybe in championship fights...they get paid the big buck for it...we need to compete with UFC where they get paid, what a measly 200 thousands for five grueling five minutes rounds

Maybe, but think back of Pac's fights, don't think he'd slowed down much pacing for a longer figtht, Margo would ve been a tko, likely mosley, perhaps clottey...Froch and Ward would've been really tested as to how really good they are, and what of odl vs floyd?

Imagine if Lebedev - Jones was 15 rounds.

Exactly! Lebedev wouldn't have wanted to exert his energy on the combo that ko'd roy cause he knew he had 5 more rounds to go. Then Roy's rope a dope would have worked better over the longer fight. Allowing Roy to win by KO round 15. He then goes on to beat Haye at heavyweight, and unify against the Klitchskos. Then fights a comebacking Lennox Lewis in a farewell fight that ends in a draw. Yes! Bring back 15 round fights!

If this happens we'll start to see more boxers dying...

Those are not well conditioned and with a lot of heart will be murdered by those who are well conditioned.

Did you want to see Pac carrying Margo for 3 more rounds? That exciting fight would have turned boring.

If the competitive structure is refined, the reality in the most compelling of all sports can be stranger than fiction.

Today's fighters have a hard enough time with just 10 rounds.
15 rounds will never come back because these new fighters have no stamina.

15 rounds was what championship fights were about. Separation of the men from the boys.
