I think i said i would fight a prime Earnie Shavers for a mil or so.
MANILA—Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim has offered $65 million to Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao to fight in Mexico next year with one of Mexico’s up-and-coming fighters.

i agree.... this "deal" makes zero sense for either party, as previously described

i'd question the validity of the source...
the last thing Pacquiao would want to do is fight a light mid getting into his prime. A welterweight or light welterweight would be picked for that...
remember, Pacquiao is a true Lightweight...

FYI, Mexico is only about a third of what it was before. 2/3 of it's land was land-grabbed and that includes Texas, New Mexico, California.

Gotta think out of the box, as ODL would say.

When Odl considered fighting Pac, he instantly saw the tremendous marketing and story line potential, one for him personally to steal some of Pac's thunder, so he thought, and two to add to the growing international and american popularity of pac and boxing...

Pac has one to two years left, by the time this is setlled, perhaps his last fight...Canelo ain't got nuttin to loose, win, loose or draw, when it's all said and done for him in ten to thirteen years, to be the stuff of legend he will have to have tangled with the pacman

Are you crazy, pac would smash alvarez to pieces with ease. Cotto feather fisted brother was able to wobble alvarez chin imagine what pac would do to him.

    :rofl

This would be the easiest money pac ever made.

Carlos Slim will drop coin. I think he bailed out the New York Times in the last year or two.

This is interesting. Want to hear more about this.

So why doesn't Martinez go to 168lbs? I mean it's just one weight class away right? And he belongs more in that weight class than Pac does at 154...what do u think?

They have unfinished business.. it's the biggest money fight out there besides your lover boy... who wants nothing to do with boxing. not while pac is around.

a 140 lber who has been TKO'd by Maidana? the same Maidana who an old and chubby Morales almost stopped.. 140 lber who looked like crap against Peterson, a very unimpressive fighter. He beat 1 guy at 147, a small welter who was very overrated.... and still got knocked down twice in that fight.

I like Ortiz, but man... just be quiet... no matter who Pac was fighting , you would whine like a little child who doesn't get his way.

Pac was ripe and ready for the Oscar fight. Just because the kid has a million wins doesn't mean he's ready. The kid has "potential", is marketable, has charisma and a possible superstar in the future why ruin him? I don't get it :patsch

He's a billionaire Carlos slim and he loves his country men... He is offering PAC peanuts to please his countrymen.

It's say PAC is considering it as that is a lot of money.

Hopefully we hear more about it, the report is from Manila.
