Go Back to 15 Rounds to Revive Boxing

imagine if Klitschko-Briggs was 15 rounds.

 

Adding more rounds would not do a single thing other than let boxers take much punishment. Or do less in the beginning rounds.

I mean, for **** sake, boxers today aren't appreciated enough as it is and you want them to go through 9 more minutes of punishment?

Boxing doesn't need "Reviving" it needs to be appreciated and shown on a larger scale, rather than just PPV or Cable TV. Fights need to be put back on the BBC and other places like that to expose it to a wider audience, there is no way in hell that we need to add more rounds just to get more people interested, that wouldn't work.

And you give examples of fights that could be different and... would you be happier if Khan was violently knocked out after surviving round 10? 12 rounds is more than enough for any championship fight. Unless you are in there getting the **** kicked out of you for 12 rounds then I don't think any of us on the outside can really call for more time to watch somebody taking much punishment for the sake of money or ungrateful ****ing fans.

 

Klitschko would of gotten the KO, im sure of it. That fight was a real bad
ass-whipping, Briggs wouldn't of survived 3 more rounds.

 

15 or 100 rnds is not the answer. It is the 10 different champions in each weight class. No body knows who is champion. That's what is killing boxing.

 

no with people these days having less and less attention span it would just have people turned on to men on men action even more (MMA). i think part of their sucess is actually because there's less rounds.

 

Yes.. But imagine how badly beaten briggs would have been after the fight.. They cutted down the championship fights down to 12 rounds, because it was scientific proved that the last 3 rounds was where the boxers received permanent injuries

 

Exactly my thoughts :good, people is calling todays fighters "hype jobs, cherry pickers, cowards, bums" etc, and then they want them to take even more punishment for their amusement? Just imagine what a mess the Vitali-Briggs could have ended with if there was 3 more rounds..

 

Cause of safety concerns it won't happen.

I'd rather boxing was 10 rounds than 15.

 

Honestly, his trainer should be ashamed of himself. If I was Briggs's trainer I would of stopped that. There was no need for him to last the distance to get that "moral victory"
