Thats an excellent list! I could think of 3 or 4 fighters who might replace Apostoli at 10, but the middleweight division is historicaly deep. Nice list man, its good to se we can agree on some things. :good

Excellent List. I would have Robinson ahead of Ketchel but the argument can be made either way.

Holman Williams should be on there, above Hopkins who is a little to high. Robinson should be higher. It's ok.

Though many will disagree, I don't think that either Monzon or Hagler has an argument for the #1 slot.

Flowers at 7 is perhaps a little too high.

Fitzsimmons and Walker should definitely be in there.

I don't know enough of Fitz middleweight comp to rate him at 160, but I wouldn't have to much of an objection to Walker sneaking in at 10.

Why do you not agree with Hagler or Monzon at 1?

I think fitz, zale and walker should be there.

Monzon or greb are good for number 1.

You're correct to have Monzon at #1. Actually #'s 2 and 3 are on target too.

    Of course it's all subjective.

I tend to vascilate somewhat on the placement of no 3 on...but I'm sure of Monzon at 1 and Hagler at 2.

The non pareil Jack Dempsey and Joe Choynski were all time great. Guys like Creedon, Hall etc were considered the best of their time. Fitz weighed in as a middleweight when he KOd Corbett. This is the best figther any middleweight has ever beaten (as a middleweight). Other notable wins against top heavyweight fighters like Ruhlin, Sharkey, Maher etc are as good as any middleweight has had. Although the opponents were heavyweights, Fitz never weighed more than just over the middleweight limit and often was within it for these fights. If required, with a bit of effort, he could have always made the limit for each of these fights.

Many of the other nameless names listed as KOS are not as bad as most think. Most were the best fighters in their area and many were actual heavyweights.

I dont think it is possible to do a top 10 list without Fitz, unless you put an asterix in it and note that Fitz isnt included in consideration. It is almost as bad as doing a welterweight list without Ray Robinson.

I'd have Greb higher and Ketchel lower but great list none the less.
