Per boxrec, this was the prospects 2nd pro fight...and then he only had 1 more fight after that. I assume he just gave up the sport?
While I respect your posts, Calzaghe would still destroy Froch. As much as I love Carl for the fighter he is.
took me to the taylor fight to **** with him and i thought he beat kessler.shoud be 2 undefeated fighters in the finals both with belt i think.
I've been converted over the course of the Super 6 into a Froch fan. But he should have lost to Dirrell (though I think he'd win a rematch), lost to Kessler, and would be taken to school by a prime Calzaghe. Doesn't mean he's not a hell of a fighter. Great for the sport. The Brit press needs to get its collective head out of its f*cking ass and give this guy front page coverage. He's the best of Britain right now.
I was a fan since the the beginning of this tournament... I like his warrior mentality and the respect he shows for other warriors of the game.
he looked really unorthodox and awkward vs Dirrell. He earned alot of respect from me vs Authur Abraham. His previous fighting style was made to order for AA, but he was able to make pre-fight adjustments to give AA his most dominant loss. Really enjoyed the Kessler & Johnson fight. He's a brave & enjoyable fighter to watch. He trusts his chin. Because of this, a fighter can really open up his offense....
So true Christ, I wish that fight had taken place.... Oh well Ward will take him to school anyway :deal
Yeah he converted me. I had high hopes when he first turned pro but his continued poor technique and poor opposition turned me off him. But his run as a champion as been impressive. The fact he went to America with his first defence and fought Taylor earned my respect and what he's acheived in the super 6 has made me a fan again. His performance against Kessler surprised me, I expected him to get blasted out, his boxing skill against AA and his performance against Johnson show how much he has improved.
Me, alot. Was never impressed by him when he was workin his way up through the rankings, liked the way he was working his way up but always thought when it came to the top fighters hed fall short just because he wasnt a good enough boxer. I also bored very quickly of his harrasing of Calzaghe, it was just goading and at times appeared nothing more than desperate. Was never keen on alot of things he had to say about alot of his opponants. But hes turned me around, hes my kinda fighter as far as ambition goes, he will go anywhere and face who ever it takes to be the best, or atleast try to prove it, he will duck nobody, gives it his complete all and evidently trains absolutly properly every single time. Im still not a big fan of his boxing skills, think hes been lucky at the top more than once already. But hes still there, hes clearly hard to beat. I wish every boxer had the pride and ambition of Froch then maybe more fights would be made instead of boxers side stepping each other. Each weight class of boxing just used to be 1 big ladder and to get to the top you had to beat all that stood in your way. These days they have some real fancy ****in ladders where you can go sideways and around things and still get to the top.
Kessler onward for me, I warmed up to Carl. I was quite skeptical up through Taylor and Dirrell. Cracked a few jokes about his ability's...now just about his singing ability.
