Probably not so much in recent fights but when Froch does to go the trenches, there are lots of similarities between him and Bika. Both are physically similar, both throw wide punches, both can be aggressive and throw quick combinations.

Like I said though, Froch is everything that Bika is but on another level, including with his variety. Froch can mix it up whereas Bika is resigned to being a tough guy.

If you don't think so, that's cool :good I have no issues with that. People react in different ways to these things. Honestly, Ward seems kinda shy to me so maybe it was just that? I think a lack of eye contact is typically a sign of being scared but then it depends on the person too. In Ward's case, it may be irrelevant.

Ward hasnt been tested fully yet, and by god if there's any man in the World to push Ward to his edge and maybe topple him, its Carl Froch.

I want Froch to win and I know he can do it , but he will be the underdog, only slightly though I feel.

If you want to talk about similarities, Ward is to Taylor far more than Froch is to Bika...the difference is Ward has better footwork, is more aggressive, and isn't going to take any **** from Froch. There's no question JT had Froch beat, cleanly and beaten with a KD...keep in mind this is POST Pavlik JT, who isn't nearly the fighter he was on the front end. I would also point to the Dirrell fight as an example of Froch being made to look slow, plodding, and like the sterotypical "Euro" fighter. I'm not saying Froch is that, I'm simply saying there's nothing about Froch that should worry a Ward fan, outside of Ward's chin...which I view as a little suspect. In a "boxing match" Froch is getting his ass beat something stupid.

Froch will beat Ward and if you watch the post fight interview Ward looked worried and could not look froch in the eyes when Froch told him he knew for sure that he has the right game plan to beat him easy.

You know, I don't want to be that guy who always pops up and picks apart a guys resume and says it's a load of **** because you can do that with pretty much every fighter in history, and it's easy to do it with Sugar Ray Robinson even. However, I do want to make a couple of points simply because I think Ward is getting somewhat overrated.

The whole hype is solely based around the Kessler fight. I look at the Miranda bout and it was ok but it's against Miranda who has been beaten far easier against lesser opponents such as Pavlik and Abraham. I like Miranda a lot but I realize he's limited.

Pudwill is a nonentity and pointless mentioning him.

Then we have the Kessler fight. Again, I don't want to be that guy who diminishes everything but was it really that impressive? For one, I think Ward had a huge edge on him stylistically. I read a post earlier today and it was in reply to the idea that Ward hadn't had it all his own way in this tournament and proof of that, was that he faced Kessler in his first fight. I disagree because Kessler is perfect for Ward. Stylistically, the fight easily favoured Ward because Kessler has a straight up stance and fluidity will always beat that. Secondly, there are also serious questions about Ward's vision. Was he 100%? He certainly didn't look it and I know the obviously answer is "Ward made him look average" and maybe that's true...but maybe it isn't. All I'm saying is, it's not conclusive that Ward is all he's made out to be. I don't think the Kessler fight proved it unanimously because we know he has carried an injury for a while. Thirdly, it also has to be said that there were headbutts in the fight. People can say they don't really make a difference, and maybe they wouldn't have in that fight, but watch Forrest/Mosley or Holt/Torres and tell me they don't make a difference. Kessler said that the headbutts blurred his vision so who knows?

Again, I am being a bit critical but I'm only pointing out that it is possible for plenty of shadows to be cast on the win, and, as I said, it's the key win to any hype surrounding Kessler.

After that, he beat Green. Yeah, Green is very average and Johnson beat him quicker and more impressively. Is that a sign Ward is overrated? Somewhat, yes. I look at your post and in your last line, you say "in a boxing match, Froch is getting his ass beat something stupid" yet Green wasn't beaten up that badly. He was beaten comprehensively but you wouldn't say it was embarrassing or anything like that. I fail to see, without Ward being overrated, how anyone can possibly say he "beat Froch's ass", something he didn't really do to Green.

Then you have the Bika fight. This was a tough first to score because it was so scrappy and you can use the same argument that I used for the Green fight here. How is Ward going to beat Froch up when he couldn't beat the distinctly average Bika up? Bute and Calzaghe both looked far more impressive than Ward did, who struggled at times. The reason being, I think, is because Ward is a rhythm fighter and he wasn't able to get into a rhythm against Bika. The reason I mention that style now is because I don't think Froch will allow Ward to get into his rhythm either. Both Bika and Froch are unorthodox, tough, can pressure and love to trade. Ward struggled with that and yet Froch does all that better than Bika and more on top. Again, if Ward couldn't easily beat Bika how is he easily going to beat a similar yet far superior Froch?

Finally, there is the Abraham fight. It's an interesting one because Abraham was such an easy opponent for Ward stylistically yet he lost a couple of rounds. The fight was bizarre because Abraham did so little to win, yet he took more rounds against Ward than he did against Froch. If he was to take rounds against anyone, it would be Froch who is far more suitable for Abraham than Ward is. Aside from that, Ward also took quite a lot of punches and whenever Abraham threw, he had success. In the post fight interview, it was obvious that Ward wasn't entirely happy with the performance and you can see why. Against an opponent throwing a pitifully low amount, not only did he take far too many shots, he also lost a couple of rounds.

Now, you can either think of me as that guy who trolls and picks apart a good fighters record but maybe what I'm saying is true? In all honesty, I'm being hypothetical too because I don't know how good Ward is. I'm not saying he isn't as good as you think he is and I'm not saying he is. I just don't know yet and the reason I don't know, is because of every point I've made above. There is reason to be high on him, yes, but there's also a lot of reason to doubt whether he is the real deal. If he isn't, Froch will be far too much for him.

Froch probably has better punching power than ward and probably a better chin. All ingredients which suggest he should take the fight to ward and make him fight frochs fight by trading blows instead of a boxing match where froch is far more likely to lose.

Considering Ward absolutely schooled and embarrassed the guy who just beat froch 3 fights ago this is utter bull****.

Froch said in the post fight press conference that he could back Ward up because he has a good chin and he knows Ward can't punch. It would be interesting to see Froch walk Ward down and I'm not sure if Ward would cope well with that.

Froch's defense is about 30% of what ward's defense is and that is why he will never win this fight.

Ward is too diverse on defense and offense for Froch and Froch is one dimensional. Anything Froch can do offensively, ward can do better defensively and that is the bottom line.

Froch will need a Ko to win this fight and since this is boxing is it possible. But, there is 0% chance that Froch can win a decision.

Defense, angles and better footwork. Not to mention a way better offensive variety than froch could ever dream of with either hand. Froch is going to look like a plodder in there with Ward. When Froch comes straight ahead he is going to be turned and swinging and hitting nothing but air.

If Froch tries to box he will be outclassed. Froch is not a great inside fighter and that is the only style right now that can beat ward.

    Awful post.

Look child. Froch got outboxed by Taylor. Got outboxed by Dirrell. And got outboxed by Kessler.

Froch cant fight coming forward. He needs to be the counter puncher. His power is overrated. He's mostly a clubbing puncher. Has no snap in his punches. The chances of him KOing Ward with one of those wide looping punches that Dirrell who pulls straight back with his hands down at times dodging, Ward will make him look even worse with his more fundamental defense.

Everytime Froch has faced a boxer he's looked bad. Against Abraham and Johnson, he got 2 guys who stood right in front of him with a high guard, and he couldnt even come close to shutting out a clearly tired and drained Glen Johnson.

Ward will be better him with jabs and right hands all night while easily getting out of the way of his punches. Froch cant fight on the inside, Ward is perhaps the best inside fighter in the tournament.

Its over boy. Stop deluding yourself. He was lucky to make it this far.

I give Froch tremendous credit though because even though your post was spot on, the guy has a tremendous heart and will to win. So, with that being said I think he does have a small chance at a KO.

But, he has no game plan against Ward. he cannot outbox him and if he tries to straight forward walk him down he will really get embarrassed.

Frankly, his best chance is to somehow get inside, make it ugly and hope for a KO. It will be near impossible for his team to make a change in his style that drastic at this point. But, IMO it is his only chance.
