He knows that this fight is one of the ages and that the price
will continue to sky rocket due to public demand.

Mayweather will get his 100M and his random testing.

    Thats just astute IMO.

Depends on your definition of 'smart'. Fighting twice in three and a half years and earning about 60 mill, when he could have fought 6-7 times and earned around 200 mill? IMO, not the smartest way to maximise your earnings in your prime years.

He must be to make as much money as he has with his boxing style & opponent selection.

People laughed when he said he could make 100 million off the back end of the fight.

As time goes on, people are not laughing so loud.

we've gone from 50 mil offers to 65 mil offers to now a reported 75 mil offer for 30 minutes work inside a ring.

Floyd is changing the state of boxing and breaking every past boundary and pushing the sport even further into the public domain. All this before he finally retires for good. This will be his greatest legacy and achievement in the sport,

Its damage control at this point, nothing smart about it. If he was smart he would have done this in 2010 instead of gambling and selling soda bottles.
Now if pac loses or retires the joke will be on him, waiting isnt always good, remember the lopez gamboa cake?

Being inactive will not get you 100M. floyd should have stayed active and won fights before the showdown between pac.

That would make the 100M mark.

the problem with this floyd trying to delay the fight is what if him or pac loses? for him it's no problem since he only fight once a year.

utter bull****, the fight is bigger than ever. 65 million offers prove that, and it will only get higher.

pac has not taken on any great threats that could possibly derail the fight. He has carefully cherry picked when to fight certain fighters. If pac was to lose it would be his own fault.

Those are rumours, the fight was at its top in 2010, since then interest is declining, a lot of people are fed up with all this bull**** and have lost interest, same way hagler vs leonard should have happened a few years before it did.
at this point the thought will be finally! its damage control at this point.
Ask anyone if they are fed up with the floyd/pac saga.

pac has taken risk more than floyd has ever had even at welter. pac fought cotto and margarito, two fighters floyd has avoided in the past. he also fought clottey who is not a welterweight push-over. if you are really a boxing fan, you should know that everything can happen in boxing.

so if you are giving credit to floyd for delaying the fight as much as possible so that he can maximize the potential earnings then he should of thought that anything can happen like someone losing, the other fighter retiring or going to prison because of outside the ring activities and bungling this superfight.

If i was a millionaire and want some free media attention, i would haved propose 250m dollar. Since Floyd is retired for some unknown reasons (fear, i assume), the fight won't happen and i got my name to be on ESPN for free.
