iI think maybe 15 fighters in Miami and Irland will get a top 15 in IBF/WBA/WBC/WBO (in one of them) Then its gonna depend on who they meet up there. Despaigne was unlucky who met Syllakh. Solis met a Klitschko. Lara got a difficult fight against Williams.
But many of them gonna get more chances
Already Gamboa,Rigondeaux,Franco,Lara,Despaigne;Dortico,Solis, Barrera in top 15
and i expect 7-10 other cubans get up to a top 15 ranking
Its more than 10 good fighters not mentioned here by me so i mean it is realistic

 

Hernandez is an interim champ, don't why jones is not fighting him instaed of the bum he is fighting.

 

Even if lara lose to williams it doesn't mean he can't b a champ, what he needs to do is focus and throw combos, if he looks good losing his stock is going to rise.

 

I have to agree with you about Jhonson. He doesn't have the " finishing instinct " that has made Gamboa so famous. Jhonson, ( like many other Cuban ex amateurs ) is only happy with outboxing his opponents. Yes it works but he is definitely losing many fans that won't see him again. Even me ( and I am 100% for my Cubans ) felt bored seeing him school that kid. If Jhonson wanted to, he could have KO'd that guy in less then 4 rounds but he was just happy with being safe and boxing straight out the book.

I know that I said that I felt that Jhonson was better than Lara but I am beginning to change my mind after seeing him this Friday. Lara is way more aggresive and goes for the finishing if he feels like his opponent is hurt. All of the new Cubans need to understand that boxing is a business and they need to " impress " the fans and boxing clinics are not that appreciated in the pros even though they get the job done. Jhonson has very good technique and talent but needs to finish the job in style, specially if his opponent is just there to be taken like Atlas said. Atlas has always been impressed with Jhonson but was dissapointed in that he didn't press the action in order to get the stoppage.

But, I don't want our Cubans to become KO artist and completely abandon their Cuban skills as that how they learned to box and were so effective with. But some of them definitely need to learn to be more aggresive and forget that safety first mentality. They can still use their great skills but when the time comes for the TKO it needs to happen. Most of the people that had never seen Jhonson are very dissapointed in him and said that they don't want to see him again and I can understand why. Even I felt like that. Let's see how he looks in his next fights, maybe he will step up his aggression. :good

 

True about Maja being young. BUT, I have a good idea of what he's about. I've seen him in there with a LOT of tough people. NO ONE gives him trouble. I could name over 10 Pros I've seen him spar with too. . . . About Yunier Dorticos, which fights was it you saw that you think he's wild? Ok there was a few moments in the Herrera fight. He has a lot of KOs but that's because he has power. He hits really hard, and these Journeymen he's been fighting, nothing wrong with trying to dispatch them quick in my opinion. I've seen him go hard with people who's skill he has a lot of respect for, like Vilier Quinonez, and Dorticos can box beautifully when he wants to. Very very talented I think. Besides, the Cruiserweight division is pretty shallow right now. I think it's there for Dorticos to take!

He'll get outta that eventually. It can't last forever. My main concern is the left hand. He gets over these 2 obstacles I don't see anything stopping him if he keeps his confidence.

 

Yeah it was him. I can understand where you're coming from though. That was his only fight on TV since his Pro Debut, it definitely wasn't the best showcase of his skill. . . It's what I see in the gym mostly that makes these guys my Top 5.

But if u say he is good i believe u, thats something for sure,he hits hard.

The WBA wil no longer recognize unbeaten featherweight Yuriorkis Gamboa as the unified 126lb champion. The WBA world championship Committee, decided to vacate the championship because Gamboa did not comply with regulations in defending his IBF belt against Jorge Solis, which resulted in that title being vacated.
