You know, when's the last time Manny's taken a fight like Ortiz

As in, a highly ranked, young, hungry, peak Welter, coming off a big win?

Cotto and Margarito were on the scrap heap when he faced them. Only big name on the planet who would face them at that time was Manny. And just because Arum picks his fights

You have to remember most boxing writers these days are idiots. Just guys who can make a living, entertaining Filipinos

As in, Michael Marley, wrote an article claiming Castillo was a Southpaw, and that's why Floyd struggled..............

    He's right handed!?

You know, boxing boards are just being deserted these days. It's hard having serious debates, when they're just flooded by fans from the same country, talking the same dogmatic, stupidity

Margarito as an example. The guy had been destroyed by an old mosely, had been out of the ring for 2 years. Manny drags him up to 154, as he doesn't want to take on a legit champ there, and you have fans saying this is some great win..............

It was about as cherry picked, cynical, and meaningless as you get in boxing

Ortiz is a pile of shite anyway. When things arent going his way he loses his heart completely. One good performance doesnt mean much. Floyd would destroy that heart.

Vernon steamrolled mosley first. Mosley almost steamrolled floyd at rnd 2 while pac completely steamrolled mosley. Everyone has lost before they fought floyd. The only win he can claim first is hatton since he had no loses prior to floyd

I swear you guys don't even bother watching the fights

Mayweather beat the crap out of Mosely.

Manny was pretty damn average in the same fight.

Where do you get this "Manny steamrollered Mosely" from? It was a plain lousy performance, where he barely landed a shot

He's the most valid fight for either Pacquiao or Mayweather at 147

You know, I realize this is going to sound foreign to some fans, but you fight the guys who earn it.

The guys who get the big wins to show they're the best challenger

    If you don't, you're a cherry picker.

I don't care what Margarito did in 2006. He'd not been a valid 147 fighter in years when Manny faced him

Manny landed more and got hit less then floyd againSt mosley. Floyd was hurt against mosley. Pac knocked down mosley, flozd didnt. Mosley ran away from pac and wanted to quit. Mosley stood toe to toe with floyd. Not sure where u thought pac barelz landed a shot when it shows pac landed more shots then floyd

Stop coming out with this stupidity

It's an argument that probably works on Phil Boxing - with people who never watched the fight.

Anyone who knows boxing, and watched both fights knows that Floyd gave Mosely the biggest beating of his life, and had him out on his feet after 3 rounds.

Manny's performance against Mosely was at best average.

He landed something like 15% of his shots, and 3% of his jab.

Running is not an excuse. A lot of fighters run. Manny just didn't have the legs, or skills to hit the guy consistently

You guys just invent conspiracy theories

Most pundits, and fans said Manny was just plain poor against Mosely, in a lousy fight.

Then you add in the "He hit him more and got hit less" (on the basis that he threw twice as many shots, and Mosely basically didn't throw anything)

Then you add in "Mosely wanted to quit"

And you have the ******* conspiracy theory version!

Shane was barely breaking sweat at round 12. He could have boxed another 12 and still not taken any punishment

You know "steamrollering Margarito, Cotto, and Mosely"

The caveat being that they'd all been steamrollered by grade B fighters about 6 months before, and were nothing in the division at the time!
