Primers Hora states that according to Arum it is Cotto's pick..he deserves it.
Cotto said he will fight either one he will sit with his team and decide.

Also he attended the Chavez fight and was not impressed!!!

Who would you recommend between the two?

Same thoughts here...Margarita will be ready by then as he has been doing roadwork and in the gym minus the sparring.
Cotto said he will focus on the fight.

I doubt Margarito will box again because of the damage he suffered in the bout with Pacquiao. If he does fight Cotto, I'd be confident Miguel would Win. Margarito is done & I half blame his corner because he didn't even know where he was in the last 2/3 rounds against Manny!

When the ref asked Margarito in between rounds how many finger am I holding up? Margarito's corner gave the answer because their fighter didn't know!

It is uncertain in what state margarito is and JR. skills are still doubtful , If were Cotto I would fight Jr.

Unfinished business with Margo plus it probably means more money.

    No brainer.

Best option would be to fight Chavez Jr.

If I was Cotto no doubt Chavez Jr for a 4th division title. He can fight Margarito after who is definately the much tougher fight and will probably want more time off anyway to heal

Depending on his decision we will easily be able to tell if he still feels passion for the sport.

If he chooses Margarito then we know he wants to revitalize his career and further his legacy.
If he chooses Jr. then we know he's only looking for easy paydays and will retire soon enough.

9 months between fights and the last one was against a shot Mayorga. That doesnt sound like the Cotto of old. The Cotto of old fought Judah,Mosley,Gomez and Margarito in the span of 13 months.
