I never hear about 2.5millions, do you have any source, I find it pretty big, I thought the S6 fighter did around 1-1.5M each, but I really dont know, so if you have some info about it, it would be interesting.

I remember the Calzaghe negotiations, the first offer from Frank ****** was around 1,5 millon dollars... And the hordes of Calzaghe fans on this board thought that is was more than reasonable, and Kessler was clearly ducking! In the end he ended up with more than three times the amount! (and still got screwed by Palle).

That was the deal between Sauerland and Kessler. Kessler was to get 12 million DKK which is/was(?) well above 2M USD.

Like I said, it depends of a lot of factors. If he has the European TV rights, the total would become interesting. You can't say it's a bad offer until you know all the details. Is it really 1 million?

The first step for Sauerland is to talk to Interbox: he has to say yes or no. For the moment, he plays politics with the WBO.

When do you think Kessler will fight if he takes the WBO-Stieglitz way? I'm afraid it would take a long time. Not the best thing for Kessler.

In fact, it's usually so long before getting a mandatory fight that he'd have time to fight Bute first!

Well, 1 million usd plys the european tv rights should give easily over 2 millions, so it wouldn't be a bad offer.

And with the rumors of the fight being in the states, the gate money will be a lot less than in Danemark or in Canada, so we just dont really know about it all, so we get nothing in making opinion for one side or another right now.

I don't know about the rumor of the fight being held in USA. What about it?

Well I don't know the details of the offer obviusly. I was just replying to a poster who allegedly is in the know. I highly doubt that 1M is their offer even though it's early days in these negotiations. 1M is just not a serious number.

Sauerland will definetely make a counter offer, but they'll wait untill the WBO rankings are made public as a mando-status for Kessler gives some leverage towards Interbox.

As for when a Stieglitz-Kessler fight will happen: Kessler said he wanted to return in September/October. That is one thing. Another is what Stieglitz wants and how long time the WBO will give him to accomodate the mando.

That's true. I just dont think an offer of less than 4-5M would make sense.

In one of the time Bute talked to the media, I'm pretty sure the US were in the discussion for his next fight (after Mendy). He sais on (rds I think) that it may take some time before he will fight in Montreal. And then some (in my view) stupid people were angry at him saying "he took our money for bad fights and when he get the big fight he is going away".

Bute really needs some experience without the crowd too.

The best Bute made in his career is barely 1M, I dont know about the right money should be, but a 5M (Kessler) and a 1M (Bute) fight is not realistic...

Kessler was at Bute last fight to start negociation and to see St-Juste in action who was at this time a possibe fight for Kessler Return and a good tune-up for Bute since he his a lefty!

Then no more talk from Kessler team before they annouced Bouadla as return fight who's right handed and ranked by the WBO!

So i think Saureland know for a long time that Kessler would go after Stieglitz!

I remember now Interbox and Bute saying the Magee fight could be the last one in Montreal for a while. I thought at the time they wanted to sell more tickets. I'd like that fight to be in USA. Bute needs to fight abroad indeed.
