The opposite bud. Silva decided after the Cote fight to play the most awesome foreign heel in the history of the game. Honestly Bobby Heenan had less heat than Ed Soares does when he comes up to translate for the champ.
zzzzz GSP really needs to step up to 185. It doesnt have to be Silva right away but Id make a fight with a Bisping for example.
Im gonna be the first to say this, DIAZ by TKO or KO. This is coming from a GSP fan. He has all the tools to beat him. If it happens this will place Diaz in #2 spot pound for pound. with anderson still # 1
Okay. Georges St. Pierre Jon Fitch Josh Koscheck Jake Shields (At welterweight, but also knowing they'll never fight) B.J. Penn Thiago Alves (Those are guys that just have the skills to more then likely beat Diaz. If you want I can even throw out some other names that are either on the cusp or could do it because of their skills but don't have the resume to convince someone who has never rolled in their life) Beating the likes of Frank Shamrock, K.J. Noones, Paul Daley isn't even in the same universe as beating Fitch, Penn, Alves. (Or if you don't like that combination, you can throw in Hughes x2, and Shields in any particular order... and they're both far better then any win Diaz has had in his career)
Those were two that I was considering adding but didn't quite have the "resume" to convince people who have minimal knowledge of stylistic match ups and what favors what... I'd agree if you just added one caveat: Anyone with a decent wrestling background plus good submission defense from top position, with focus on positional advantage and leg awareness on the back so they know when to posture out of a potentially bad spot. Basically a moderate wrestling background with a focus on top game BJJ defense from a good to great instructor for a few years.
im not so sure about him anymore. if it was before his last match i would agree with you in a heartbeat but now im not so sure but maybe he just had a bad day
I personally think GSP, Fitch, Koscheck and Penn definitely beat him. I'd be very confident in Condit, Sanchez, Kampmann, Alves, Story, Johnson, Marquadt, Macdonald and Thiago beating him. I think he has interesting fights with Stun gun, Hardy, Pyle, Hughes, Hathaway and Swick I'd back him to convincingly beat everyone else. (Not comparing him with Nate or Shields b/c there's no point)
