On the down side, he doesn't fight much.

But it's two bouts in a row now, where he's legitimately stepped up, and took it upon himself to take out the most dangerous, legit, viable opponent available.

If he wanted the easy money, he'd be just fighting the old names

Margarito, or rematching Mosely or something

Ortiz won't be the biggest money fight available. Far from it

I really do think it's an anti-Top Rank thing rather than an anti-threat thing with Floyd.

    His last few opponents:

    Mosley- Goldenboy

    JMM- Goldenboy

    Hatton- Hatton Promotions/Goldenboy

    Oscar- Goldenboy

    And now Ortiz.....Goldenboy!

    Coincidence?

Agreed, what Floyd lacks in Quantity he certainly makes up for in Quality.

However that being said, after this.... no excuses. From either guy. Make the fight we all want to see.

   ....:nono

Floyd waited until Pac signed on to fight somebody before he came out. This was all planned out. Don't tell me that Floyd just made his mind up to come back in just 2 weeks or so.

...and don't forget Cotto is open and he would beat Ortiz at this point.

I dont regard the 2010 version of Mosley as a "quality" opponent

But props to Floyd for fighting Ortiz, a prime, legitimate, hungry young lion

sadly for pacquiao fans, you can't use this excuse this time

Manny actually signed to face Marquez, before he even fought Mosely

Manny also signed to face Margarito, before he got in the ring with Clottey

Come on. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Mosely was about as good as it got in boxing at 2010

Come on, seriously. Manny Pacquiao beating someone doesn't make them an elite opponent

Cotto has been destroyed by Pacquiao and Margarito already. And very nearly lost to Clottey as well.

He has no business being discussed alongside actual 147 world champions

    It's Manny/Arums decision

He's had the option to take Marquez, Mosely and Ortiz before Mayweather, and has chosen not to

Wrong again...it wasn't signed until GBP gave up on matching the offer.

................and again, Floyd waited until Pac signed on to fight somebody before he came out. This was all planned out. Don't tell me that Floyd just made his mind up to come back in just 2 weeks or so.

...............and also, don't forget Cotto is open and he would beat Ortiz at this point.
