pac is not a big welter and is actually the size of jmm come fight-night so this match-up made more sense especially the closeness of the past 2 fights. but the real stir-up is when floyd didn't make the 144 catchweight they were supposed to fight at. still pac would not get credit if he wins at 144 or even at 140 against jmm coz we all know jmm is not proven at these weight.

Like that is some sort of argument?

"Floyd is ducking Pac because he wasn't at the Top Rank Showtime PPV"

Floyd tricked Marquez into fighting at 144, then came in 2 pounds over. Pac will honor 144.

    :hi:

so why didnt floyd fight Cotto at welterweight while Cotto was on top? This fight makes it clear. He clearly sees weakness in ortiz and figures it's an easy title to snatch up. However, prior to Cotto losing to Marg, he didnt see enough kinks in Cotto's armor to want to challenge Cotto for his belt.

While I do look forward to seeing FLoyd vs Ortiz, this is the first thing that came to mind. Ortiz is much more "green" at this stage in his career than Cotto has been since defeating Paulie.

He gave away more more pounds than the Irish economy to bigger stronger men.

:rofl shut up please. Marquez already fought FLoyd at the same weight he's fighting Pacquiao, but I bet you would say the Ortiz fight is better than Mayweather/Marquez, so that mean Mayweather/Ortiz is better than Pacquiao/Marquez because he's 2 years older and both instances was coming off of a KO

Yeah, it is going to be a one sided UD win for Mayweather. Maybe even a knock out but I doubt it. I see nothing that Ortiz can do to Mayweather. Ortiz won't handle the speed and get frustrated because he won't be able to pass Floyd's defense. But then again what other options, besides Manny, are there for the 'vacationer' at 147lbs?

Oh and after this fight I guess we won't see Mayweather till mid to late 2012 and looking for another tune-up?

Mayweather continues his tradition of fighting guys coming off TKO/KO going back to Baldomir, while other superstars, while talented, have been fighting people coming off unimpressive wins/losses. Regardless of any opinion, this is a fact. This is a guy, Ortiz, who many said that Mayweather would never step in the ring with (much like Mosley). Ortiz is young, hungry, strong, and will likely be coming into the ring with a good size advantage over Mayweather if he comes in weighing like he did against Berto. Plus, he's a southpaw, the one type of fighter people say Floyd shy's away from. I think it'll be a great fight, likely better then Pac-Mosley.
