Only reason people are saying this is a tough fight for pac is cuz of what happen in their 2 fights but that was couple of years ago. Pac is bigger and stronger now while marquez is older and slower.

Pac will win this fight and the excuses will come out like always at how his fighting some past prime boxers.

The latest gospel from the mouth of Floyd is that JMM was not a tune up. All other interviews where he said JMM was a tune up should now be forgotten. Failure to do so is thought crime according to the laws of the *****s.

If Pac doesn't beat Marquez by TKO or KO he needs to rethink fighting Floyd and that is real talk....

You guys call it whatever you want. I have my own name for the fight.

"Floyd beats 'em, Pac beats 'em up Part 4"

Part 1: Oscar De La Hoya
    Part 2: Ricky Hatton
    Part 3: Shane Mosley
    Part 4: Juan Manuel Marquez

Oh, I didn't realize Manny was on vacation. According to you *******s only Floyd has been on vacation? Which is it? Are you saying all of Manny's fights have been tune ups? I would agree. He hasn't found anyone relevant in a LONG time. Same with Floyd.

Despite the fact that Marquez is getting older and Pacquiao has become bigger and stronger, despite still being fast, and (so many would contend) more skilled, Marquez has i. the style to beat Pacquiao (and a history of having been in the ring with Pacquiao, which brings me to...) and a ii. score to settle with Pacquiao. Marquez has always had a chip on his shoulder when it comes to Pacquiao.

Pac thus has a legitimate claim to fight Marquez. If he didn't, per the reasons above, people would have-- and until this fight was announced-- accused him of avoiding Marquez. I find it thus amusing that many people should write off Pacquiao's decision to give in to what everyone was pressuring him to do. Furthermore, there is no fight outside of Mayweather or Martinez that is worth his time at the moment. Bradley? Yes, sure, but I'd evaluate a win over Marquez, even at this point in time, higher from Pacquiao's point of view per their history. Stylistically, and as a personal score to settle, there is more incentive for Pacquiao here. This is not to say I think either will beat Pacquiao, though, and I expect him to give either a thorough trouncing.

That said, I feel Ortiz is incredibly underprepared for someone of the Pacweather caliber. Hopefully he (read: his team/managers) knows what he's doing. Cashing in big time for a potential ruined career... well, I hope all ends well for him. Those who laud Ortiz as a strong, young, hungry individual fail to account for the fact that he has no dealt with any competition of the type nor difficulty of Pacweather.

Not to diverge too much or simply come off as I am shifting the focus from Manny to Floyd, the point is that Floyd does fight matches which he will obviously win. Legacy-wise, he has even openly conceded ambivalence to challenge or history. Yet, he will continuously refer to himself in a grandiloquent manner, present himself flamboyantly, deride the accomplishments of others, and refer to some fights (I do recall him referring to the Marquez or some other fight in 2009/10 in this way) as a "tune up" - as if we should expect better things from him, and that he even acknowledges his coming challenge(s) to be beneath his skill level. Marquez is not without skill, and that's not what I'm trying to say. But given the style, lack of external motivations to make that fight particularly attractive (from a non-"money" money perspective (heehee)), and size differential (which plays very well into the former), I doubt any expert gave Marquez a chance. Mayweather didn't. He saw the opportunity - he recognizes them - as the optimal way to make returns with the most returns. And that is why he is known as "money".

    Lose lose situation for PAC.

JMM WIN WIN, thats what happens when you finally agree to fight him when he is 38 years old, and make him fight at 144 when you can easily fight him at a lower weight to legitimize the fight.... THere are no excuses as everyone already knows JMM gave up every single advantage... now more with age, and being way passed prime..

He is only relying on experience and Technical skills... Which should help him out and I believe he has the tools to upset many people surprisgingly like he did the past 2 times...

What you will see when PAC looks like **** again, is the many excuses why PAC looked like that and struggled again with a passed prime 38 year old light weight.

Which, in following with the above, one can ask whether if Pacquiao should even consider fighting Floyd at this point. Floyd has ATG skills and talent, but a lacking resume. I've given this some thought for a while - it is often taken for granted, as we've seen in innumerate Pacweather threads, that Manny would supposedly jump big time in the rankings for a victory of Mayweather... but if Mayweather's resume is so lacking, in spite of the H2H difficulty of Mayweather, how significant would the change be? Among elitist historian assholes/nerds, us who peruse boxing forums, the casual fan, and so forth?

    Who's saying that? :think

Pacquiao is already ahead of Mayflower in the ATG ranking, yes he lacks the resume and he allowed his # 1p4p ranking to be stripped instead of fighting.

That fight simply needs to happen because they are the best 2 fighters of this era and the score should be settled on who is really the best.
