There, I said it. Not a dig on Pacquiao, just sort of pleased he's actually fighting someone who's a natural welterweight (okay, he came up from Jr. but he's blates a good welterweight), isn't over the hill and will come to fight. Obviously he's got no hope in beating Mayweather and anyone who thinks he does is foolish, but at least he's actually campaigning at Welterweight now. But I still couldn't give a ****. The guy has just totally soured me with everything that's happened. I no longer respect Mayweather, and I'm not gonna go so far as say I'm bandwagoning the fight when we all know that's always bull****, but this fight is just a fight to me. It means nothing past that, it doesn't improve his legacy, it doesn't make me admire him more, it's just a way for Floyd to make money and me getting to watch some skilled boxing. Just sayin'.
Yeah, I don't have this need to attack Floyd for this, but I'm not giving him credit. I'm neutral on the whole thing. Only haters will attack him for this and only fanboys will praise him. It's just a "so what?" from me.
I'm with ya. The arguments just go from one extreme to the other around here - Good to read someone with an objective thread on the fight.
good post ; i agree, i dont give floyd any props , he's still ducking pacquiao but Ive pretty much accepted he's never gonna take that fight. This is better then nothing , and it's a decent matchup.
Please stop hyping Ortiz. Even before the Berto/Ortiz we all know that Berto is pure hype. Now suddenly Ortiz is a monster by defeating Berto? And he was knocked down twice in that fight.
Yeah, but I call it how I see it. I don't rave against everything either Pacquiao or Mayweather does just because I'm a fanboy or accuse others of being joyboys or *****s or *******s or whatever's cool to say these days. It's insulting and you make yourself look like a clown. Wisen up, mate. It doesn't always have to be a "which side are you on?" affair. I agree. He's not Mayweather/Pacquiao calibre, and he'll be shown for it.
The only Positive is at least he's fighting a southpaw ....... its a reasonable tune up maybe Pac in March :think
