yes, i was living in vegas at the time and didn't even watch the fight. i'm as big a boxing fan as you'll see and i just waited for the replay the following week. i knew lewis was going to demolish him. i talked to so many people in vegas that were putting money on tyson. i couldn't believe it.

I love your website. You're a journalist? Sweet! I read your cover stories and saw your awards. Good job, man!

I also like how honest you were in showcasing your true opinions at the time. It'd be easy to lie and say, "I picked Lewis to win." Nice to meet a man with integrity. :)

    Cheers

Tyson was completely `SHOT` which is the only reason Lewis agreed to fight him. Danny Williams & Kevin McBride beat him even quicker and more decisively.

The fight went as I thought it would beforehand. Tyson dangerous early on,and Lewis weathering the early storm, before knocking Tyson out.

Tyson did OK in teh 1st round VS OLDMAN Lenny, But he still lost teh round 1 where he was 100% PEAK, cos he vnearly got KTFO by 1 uppercut. Even at his oOverated Prime he could only fight like that for 4/5 rounds before he gasses, So Lenny would ALWAYS **** Midget Lisp in 8 rounds or less, FACT. Foreman Hooooooooook! :smoke

This was the last time I recall others around me having such an interest in a boxing match.I had friends, family and work colleagues that knew about Ricky Hatton's fight with Mayweather, but few of them actually cared to discuss the fight, let alone stay up into the early hours of Sunday morning to watch it on PPV.

Even though he had been spanked by Holyfield years earlier, the general public were still convinced Tyson was "the baddest man on the planet".They watched the news, read the papers and were duped into Tyson's public image and many genuinely believed that he would knock Lewis out.I was one of them.

I will not lie. I will not say I knew Lewis would win. I thought Tyson stood a great shot at winning this.

Looking back, I put the blame on Rahman, had he never spark Lewis out like that, I was thinking, Tyson would have a shot in repeating that.

As it turn out, the fight was done by round 2, and Tyson gave up trying to win.
But like I said, Rahman had just ko Lewis, so I belive Tyson who was a harder hitter even at 35, would repeat the process.

Tyson had no shot. I had free tickets and didnt bother to go. I watched it on tv. You could tell in the first round what to expect from Tyson, and he came out with that wide off balance lunging lefthook, he looked like ****. Lewis beat up on him safely until Tyson was just a swinging punching bag. Typical Lewis, safety first.

Tyson was a walking turd at this point.

Huge fight though that we haven't seen the likes of since.

don't forget de la hoya-mayweather in 2007 was the highest grossing fight of all-time but you make a good point of the enormity of the event.

I was a casual boxing fan at the time, and was thinking:

Lewis is gonna get banged out!!!

It's only now that I realised that Lewis took oh so many rounds to knock out a shot Mike Tyson.

And we now regard Lewis as one of the 'All Time Greats'...

    I think not.
