This fight doesn't surprise me, Floyd will have an easy night with Ortiz, if he doesn't stop him he will bust him up bad.

Hearing Floyd talk a while back got me thinking that he was more interested in fighting a Khan/Ortiz/Bradley ............ now it's happening and if Khan beats Judah ....... I'd say a Khan/Mayweather fight is a real possibility ... :patsch

Very good fight, Ortiz will test Floyd's age in his first live fight since facing Hatton.

If Old Shane can land on Floyd then a young fit Ortiz will also at some point with power, very good viewing.

I think this is a great fight for ortiz even though i really cant see him having a hope.

    1. Increases his publicity
    2. If he loses it is to one of p4p kings
    3. If he puts on a decent performance and at least makes it comptetive then he can set himself up for a pacquaio fight or other big fights.
    4. Hell make a fortune
    5. IF it was pacquaio id have serious concerns for him taking an absolute beating, i think Mayweather will drop him a few times without being particularly hurt on the way to a UD or his corner throwing in the towel, it is unlikely unless moneys changed his personality that Ortiz will come out too battered and beaten.

Agree with Teeto aswell that its good to see mayweather/pacquaio (i understand it wont be some kind of tag team just that one of the top guys) taking on a up and comer rather than the typical old irrelevant name. Not that Marquez is irreleveant its just that he irrelevant at 147

When i first heard i was excited. The Berto fight was boss and is still
fresh in my mind. But realistically Mayweather will box his head off
and finish the fight when he wants.(UDzzzzz).
Hope Ortiz does him though cos the Pac fight isn't happening.

I'm just glad he's fighting again in that I hope he becomes a bit more active. It's got to the stage now where that when he steps in the ring and starts throwing punches it almost looks a bit odd!!

Floyd is becoming increasingly frustrating. But Pac isn't going himself any favors either. That performance against Mosley was exactly enthralling. Also Marquez fight again?? Comon that isn't exactly pushing the boat out either.

Performance agaisnt Mosley not his best in recent fights, although it was near enough a landslide. The Marquez fight again is disappointing, i do believe Pac does want the Floyd fight though. Cant say i think Floyd does, although i believe Floyd would win fairly comfortably.

This is probably the best we could have hoped for after Pacquiao so Im quite pleased, especially as deep down I didnt think he would fight again.

I can see Ortiz having his moments early on but Floyd will eventually stop him in the late rounds.

At least the man is back fighting. Floyd not fighting is bad for Boxing, but aslong as he's active it's one step closer to Floyd v Manny.

Last time Floyd vanished, then reappeared with a "tune up", he did actually try to make a fight with Pacquiao afterwards, but it all got ****ed up over the drug testing... then Pacquiao went and fought Clottey instead, and Floyd fought Shane. Hopefully the same will happen this time but the drug testing will be resolved
