Im not overlooking this fight for mayweather as it is dangerous especially after such a long layoff.

How much do you see canelo improving in the next 8-9 months.

Would you see him competitive against an older mayweather.

Do you think a canelo in 8 or 9months time is more dangerous then a current ortiz?

****ing mayweather I wanted pac to fight ortiz and canelo, I dont get why gbp would cash out on them in the hope they ko floyd.
But to be real Ortiz is a good figh which I like but its too early for canelo

No way Canelo goes from Baldomir - M.Hatton - Rhodes to Mayweather.

Not only would he not be ready/prepared - his resume doesn't yet qualify him for the opportunity.

I think it's more likely that Khan gets his shot at Floyd before Alvarez or even Pac.

Personally I belive and think GBP believe they have nothing to lose putting both ortiz and canelo in with floyd, providing they do not lose their mental edge forbver theyll be ok due to exposure on the large stage.

Canelo already seems to be doing great and used to fame abroad and at home.

Why is it too early for canelo, i dont think it will be at all.

Canelo hasn't proved himself as a world class fighter yet. Knocking out a top ten rated rhodes will prove it.

I'd like to see canelo fight the likes of cotto, cintron etc.

Let the welterweights take each other on. The light middleweights should each other.

If the two divisions sort themselves out (winner of jmm/pac v winner of floyd/ortiz; winner of cotto/margo v winner of saul/ryan) then let them fight each other but as it is I see no need for the two divisions to intertwine

Well really is not cashing out, loosing to mayweather is not like they are going to get bludgeoned in the ring, and it s a win win, they lose its too a master boxer and they are young champs, they won they sky rocket, its a throw back imo, and it did not affect marquez at all imo also.

It could mentally hurt them, i think everyone knows canelo is nowhere ready for floyd. khan makes much more sense then alvarez.

    Good news.
Ortiz Vs. Alvarez will make a ton of Money. (No pun intended)

Floyd's time has past. He is in the ring w/Killers now.

If you read the thread, youd notice it states 8 -9 months away.

His resume may not qualify but we are not the promoters, and in the time frame he may get some decent scalps, id certainly be interested him facing the winner of this fight.

Unless Khan develops a serious fan base that fight will never happen, khan is not the kind of draw people think he is imo.

That's true, although I belive Ortiz was already mentally broken already and is now stronger and wont happen again, as for Canelo it might since he is doing "big things" and has the pressure of mexico on his back.

Golden Boy are just throwing Canelo's name out there to generate talk before his fight with Rhodes. They're not serious about matching him Mayweather straight after Ortiz.

Canelo will beat both Pac and PBF before they are retired.

Trust me. Those fights will be made when they are both showing signs of decline. the longer he stays undefeated the more marketable he is and GBP knows that.

If it's 8-9 months away, it realistically leaves room for one more interim fight.

If it's contingent on Canelo winning that fight to ensure a 2012 showdown with Mayweather, it's unlikely to think that it will be against a titlist or top contender whom may spoil his opportunity; thus, his resume would still be unquantified for the opportunity, imv.
