Team Bute: We are still waiting for a reply from Mikkel Kessler.

According to a danish sports-site http://www.sporten.dk/boksning/bute-kom-med-kessler then Sauerland has rejected the offer from interbox, because it was way too low, instead Sauerland have made a much improved offer to Lucian Bute to come fight Mikkel Kessler in Copenhagen. Showtime is pushing forward to make this fight happen.

 

I wonder if Showtime will accept the fifht iin Europe. I hope Interbox takes the challenge.

I highly doubt that Interbox would accept a fight in Denmark! But I sure hope they do!

The article also says that Bute-Kessler has been in the works since March. Messier says that Interbox last week gave a serious offer for a fight in Montreal in October/November.

Messier finds that the chances of making the fight happen are good as both fighters has expressed their interest.

Sauerland has refused the offer and says that they told Interbox that they'll travel where the money is biggest. Mikkel will travel as he did with Mundine, Calzaghe and Ward and he is ready to go to Montreal if the price is right. The offer at hand is not enough. We will make a counteroffer for a fight in Copenhagen.

 

I dont think that Showtime will be the problem in this situation. If Interbox agrees to fight in Denmark, Showtime will be onboard. There are a number of ways to deal with the time difference.

There was still money to spare in my calculation to both undercard and profits even if there was less money from showtime.

Romany, Gypsy, Gipsy. Bute is not a gypsy.

 

12500 attended Kessler - Boudla in Denmark... I think 25000 - 28000 will attend a Bute fight.

Bute-Magee ticket price were in a range of 75$Can to 550$Can$ so i guess the average tickets price is higher then 100$. I never pay less then 350$ for a fight at the bell center!

By the way 1Can$ = 1,03 US$

 

Such fights also generate sponsoring money, but I really have no clue to the amount such a fight would bring.
