BINGO, thats just so true OK, try to imagine if the boot was on the other foot then. Lets say for example froch had it in the contract the he had not only all his group fights but also his semi final fight not just in his home country, but in his home town area. Now on top of that, he wants all the officials to be from not just his home country but the nottingham (or whereever hes from) area. After much argument and debate before each fight he has to "compromise" and accept only two officals from his area for the fight. All the while other home town super six fights feature no officials from the home fighters country at all!! Can you imagine the uproar there would be in america, this and other forums would be going crazy. Also as far as i can remember the ref for the kessler fight was jack reiss, whos from wards hometown of oakland LMFAO
Froch at that time had just lost to Kessler, it was the month before he beat Abraham, he deserved to drop down the list. The point is...its an unbiased list, something the americans are incapable of
Lufcrazy the whole thing been a bias Ring magazine fiddle on the ratings. Bute was #1 after Ward beat Kessler and the Ring put Ward above Bute for beating Bika who Bute beat clearer years ago. As for putting Froch at #2. Froch lost to Kessler yet all he had to do was beat Abraham coming off a loss to go above Kessler in the very next fight after losing. Now Froch goes to #2 after beating 14 losses coming in Johnson whos biggest SMW win is Green coming off a clear loss :-(. Magee who Bute beat is a more accomplished SMW than Abraham and Johnson.
Ratings aren't about accomplishments, it's more about form. Bute hasn't faced a live opponent since andrade. Beating bika years ago matters not since he was top ten wen ward beat him, as was green and kessler. Beating 3 top ten opponents on the bounce, one of which is number 1 ranked kessler is better than bute's recent run. Froch lost a close fight. His performance against aa, again top ten had people talking p4p. Johnson knocked out green who was top ten. Better than magee's last opponent going into the bute fight. Froch has now beaten 5 top ten opponents out of 6 fights. Bute has sat on his ranking, his biggest fans will admit it. Maybe the fights aren't there, who knows, but his opposition isn't as good as s6. This is the correct move.
ring rankings are now & always have been about hyping up-coming fights for it's (primarily us based) readership.
Yeah he wasn't invited and Ken Hersham in Boxing News said he wasn't invited because he had shown a ZERO inclination to fight any world class fighters and a ZERO inclination to fight outside his home town
Froch keeps fighting and beating(outside of Kessler) one top 10 guy after another even though I thought Dirrell beat him. Froch deserves to be the number two guy right now. Kessler has been inactive until last week and that guy was a non factor and Bute keeps fighting guys outside the top 10 so Froch probably deserves to be ahead of both those guys but you could make a case for Kessler since he did beat Froch.
Whomever wins the Super 6 there will be a ton of match ups to be made : Kessler Froch 2 Froch Direll 2 Kessler Ward 2 Dam the rematches alone could have the rankings shift back and forth ..
