ortiz is pac's former sparring partner.

he actually called ortiz before the berto fight and gave some words of encouragement and ortiz was very thankful after the fight.

Look man, I like this fight. Glad to see Floyd back and taking on a decent fight.. But don't make Ortiz into something he's not. David Diaz was as good a fight as this is for Floyd.. Look at his last 2 years of fights, and it tells you all you need to know. Ortiz looked like a rejuvenated fighter last time out, but that doesn't change the way he's looked the other 5 or 6 fights..

Usually when we see a fighter fighting one way then it changes for a night, guess what?? it's usually just a good night and not the norm for him.. We can say this for great fighters, good fighters, journeyman, club fighters, to whatever.. If we see a great fighter have an off night we won't call him **** unless this repeats itself.. Do you see what I'm saying?? So when a decent fighter looks really good, we can't automatically say he's a really good fighter. We say he had a great night, and can only hope that trend continues..

This is a very good fight and I'm hyped, but don't make this something it aint..

Guys who were in the front of the line
    1 Pac
    2 Martinez
    3 Bradley/Khan
    4 Ortiz
Cotto belongs on this list somewhere, just not sure where to place him...

Why fight Ortiz, when he can fight Pac anytime?
Why risk losing to a live young fighter?
I think Floyd is not confident he can beat Pac.
This only confirmed that he's scared **** of Pacquiao.

Why not? You seem to be a wise poster here, can you explain why not except that he's a leftie?

Doesn't change that Ortiz doesn't pose a threat at all.

Pac is just saying that it's good that Mayweather is fighting again, especially against a southpaw. Nowhere does he say it's a good fight. This is just one of those misleading thread titles that we see on ESB all he time. And even if he did, you guys will all see in september that it's a lackluster mismatch.

You did not watch the Ortiz/Berto fight.

Ortiz is a former sparring partner. Vic says he had a chat with Pac before the Berto fight where Pac gave him pointers.
