hmm has to be klitschko or mayweather, I personally dont see it that way but a lot of casual fans get pissed when the fight isnt exciting I noticed, especially the heavyweights, I watched wlad vs chambers with some friends and people were hating on the guy, saying that k1 is more awesome and boxers are boring pussies etc. when wlad finally ko'd him it turned around a little bit but it wasnt good, you get those tyson would have finished him in2 coments.
Floyd for not having a casual fan pleasing style yet being a huge draw you have to respect his skills but if you want to see a brawl or something he is the wrong guy, I think casual fans also think like that about guys like ward or direll who besides very talented can be considered boring by the mass audiance.
Casual fans prefer ortiz vs berto type fights over effective boxing lessons.

by the way cancer of the sport is pretty harsh though, I would say the worst thing about boxing arent the boxers but the sanctioning bodies.

Haye,Floyd and the Klitshkos don't belong on the list. 2 of those guys are 2 of sports biggest moneymakers with legions of fans and the other is David Haye.

Cortez is a ridiculously bad referee who gets big high profile fights. I vote Cortez followed very closely by MArgarito.

its the same way in several sports people love barcelona's combination football yet dislike the italian catenaccio style eventhough inter used it vs barca and ended up winning the champions league last year.

and in the 1980s it was Hector Camacho. Just too much talk and not much action behind his talk.

Floyd/Pac/Arum/ form the 3 headed beast that has prevented boxing's resurgence simply because there is no good reason why it shouldn't happen (all parties are gulity!). This fight comes off...boxing is back in the spotlight, which would be infectious enough to bring other lesser known fighters into talks simply because there's a buzz in the sport itself. I'm sure in the history of boxing, there have been other times top fighters refused to fight even though they were win the same friggin weight class. But there has always been an additional draw to offset that situation. Which leads to...

I think you need look no further than boxing's glamour division. Any top fighter will have his fans...but if we are talking about who has hindered the explosion of boxing back into the mainstream (or at least the homepage of yahoo sports and espn.com again)

It's not necessarily the Klitschko brother's at fault per se, it's the state of the division as a whole. But, if they were tearing through people ala Mike Tyson days, even though the competition is considered so sub par, I guarantee boxing would be much more showcased to the mainstream. But when the top guys of the biggest division are dull...what can you do?
