Good fight if it finally leads to Pac-May.

**** fight if it leads to May going back into retirement, leaving us fans to argue, again, why Pac-May isn't happening.

Sadly, it's the latter scenario which is the more likely one.

Can't believe that there's people on a boxing forum that would be disappointed with Mayweather fighting a young guy coming off a career best win. Boggles the mind.

These people are probably annoyed that the fight they want - Mayweather vs Pacquiao - will never be made, and instead, they're given 36 minutes of an extremely advanced fighter, embarrassing a young, naive, reckless fighter who only two fights ago was struggling with Lamont Peterson (I urge everyone to watch this fight again). Then a life-and-death encounter (an awesome one, I might add) with an unproven and overrated welterweight, automatically makes him a legit threat for someone like Floyd? Pffft! Yeah right.

Mayweather and Pacquiao will get made and they'll milk it for every penny that it's worth. Not sure I'd call his fight with Berto "life and death". He did what he didn't do against Peterson and closed the show pretty well. Did people really expect him to jump in with Manny after the lay off? Ortiz is an aggressive hard hitting young south paw and coming off a career best win. It's a fight worth watching, something we haven't had from Manny for a little while.

I think Ortiz will really test Floyd especially due to the laters inactivity. Ortiz will be brimming with confidence after his win against Berto & knows that this is the only fight that matters to him. I'm looking forward to this one.

IMO a good fight after a long layoff.... people just like to hate certain others not matter what they do

    im with you Ippy

i understand some people have the Pac or nobody attitude but this is still a good fight. Sure, Ortiz has his weaknesses but the guy comes forward hard and fast, has power in both hands, is a swarming southpaw brawler and is the toughest test outside of Pac at 147. Pac is miles ahead of him but still, Ortiz has a punchers chance and that is more than the rest of them had. Guys like JMM (at 147) and Baldomir didnt have that. And Hatton was very predictable for Floyd and just got countered all night. With a long lay off and coming in to face a young aggressive southpaw this is a fantastic fight and should be worth watching

And Floyd loves those green WBC belts :D
