He's already beat a fighter who's beat Tyszu, 2 fighters who beat Casa, 1 fighter who beat Freitas, 1 fighter who beat Clottey and if he beats Pac a fighter who beat Margo, Clottey and Cotto.

You have to take into account that if he gets the Pac fight and wins convincingly, he'll have won what many will regard as the biggest fight in boxing history; of course, there's a long list of welterweights in history who would would beat Pac if they fought, but that's not my point. Let him retire undefeated as the winner of the greatest event in boxing, add 20 years to thin out the old-timers influence and I think he'll be regarded as a top 10 fighter.

I think he's top 25. He has a really high celling. The right things happen he could be #1.
He needs beat Pacquiao. The hardest part there is getting Pacquiao to fight him and as we have seen this has not been an easy task. Than he needs to clean out 154 and 160.

Build a time machine, go back to 2002, and go forward with a completely different mentality towards challenges, opponents and legacy.

Tszyu, Williams, Cotto, Margarito, a younger Mosley, and a Pacquiao fight in 2010 should all have been fought.

This really is the most ridiculous point to make. "Beating a fighter who beat Tszyu" means absolutely nothing, it certainly doesn't equate to actually fighting and beating Tszyu. Very, very silly. :-(

Yeah, but it's a ridiculous comment to make. Really ridiculous. By that logic, Erik Morales should never have bothered fighting Marco Antonio Barrera since he'd already beaten Junior Jones. :patsch

Martinez alone would get him into the top 20 argument for me.

Add Pac and I think he's in there.

Floyd's over rated. I'd begrudgingly put him somewhere just outside the top 50.

He can't. As talented as he is he fights far to infrequently and hasn't faced all the best comp since his days at 130 and 135. Elite all time greats leave no stone unturned, that is why they are elite.

Are you honestly going to tell me that you think his run of fights consisting of:

    Ndou
    Sosa
    Brussels
    Corley
    Gatti
    Mitchell

Could not be improved greatly? I have upped my opinion on the judah victory recently. And I fully understand the gatti fight because it was huge. But the other 5 fights could and should have been a much higher level.

Ofcourse retiring after the hatton fight was ridiculous. It is them very opponents(margo, cotto, mosley, clottey) that pac beat himself to put a legacy which surpassed floyd's own. Ultimately them welterweight victories made him fighter of the decade.

Floyd getting into the top tier? Not-Gonna-Happen.

Floyd is a great boxer, but he is far away from the top right now. Too much cherrypicking for my likes.

He would have to beat Martinez and Pacquiao in a very dominant way to have a real chance to crack the rankings, but that is not gonna happen, because those fights are never happening thanks to Floyd´s antics.

he can't. too late now. Even if he fights Pacman now, people know he waited for Pacman to get old and worn out.
