From Benny Leonard to Amir Khan, from Floyd Patterson to Lennox Lewis, boxing history is filled with glass-jawed fighters who went on to become world champions.

But which one of them made the most of the skills he did have?

I think you need to watch that glass shatter again:

RJJ is a prime example in recent times. the day he lost his superhuman reflexes he started getting KO'ed (real KO's not just counted out) by decent but not world class fighters.

Can we leave the Chinchecking to the professionals please?

You should have privately messaged a Chinchecker and they would have created this thread.

Patterson did go down but got up.. he only went out against big punchers... He also beat (or should have controversial) some good fighters who can punch.. I think his chin was underrated for a Cruiser(which is what he was) his chin wasnt bad..

Lewis didnt have a hot chin but i wouldnt call it glass...SO he dont count.

Id go with WLad and Norris.... Wlad has had a long streak going and dont lett no one get near that chin anymore. I think hes a little overrated but for having a bad chin hes pretty dominate... Terry Norris was another guy

Hard to say with Kahn 1. were not sure if his chin is glass(i think its not good though and 2. Even if his chin is glass he hasnt gone far enough or had enough big wins to rank him as one of the most succesful glass jawed fighters.

Chiquita Gonzalez was like Lennox sometimes they showed tough chins and could go toe to toe.. And other times they went out like a light.. CHiquita has to be up there(not glass but not good).... Im sure theres old timers not coming to mind right now.

THomas Hearns not glass but not good.. Imo he is the highest ranking fighter on my all time great list with a not so good chin... Ive always felt if he had a good chin he might have been the greatest fighter ever (at least hth)!
