No . I've heard this same story last year, and the year before. Floyd comes out when Pacquiao is signed to fight somebody, then he goes back on vacation.

A few articles posted it...of course it's all hearsay since Floyd never confirmed or denied it. But had Andre won, Floyd's comeback fight would be a lot bigger. They really wanted Andre to win b/c he was still undefeated, he was black and a champion. Ortiz threw a ****** wernch in the works.

Am I disagreeing with you? No. I just said he deserves credit for taking Ortiz. Besides, if he DID take Berto on after losing to Ortiz he would be ****ing ridiculed, and rightly so.

Why should he get credit for fighting Ortiz? Floyd is a fighter, isn't that his job to fight the top guys in his weight class? He's still ducking the top guy in his division.

The fight could be taking longer to make because it is cut from a different cloth

this is not the same story.....they are fighting what appears to be counters for each other.....about the same time so timing is good...this is not the same as the previous. As far as we know Pac said ok on a camer phone interview and floyd has always said take the test we fight...it looks like a go to me.

The recent news of Floyd fighting Ortiz, a southpaw is encouraging. Not to mention the timing. I just hope it happens.

Has someone from Team Pacquiao contacted someone from Team Mayweather and stated Pacquiao will agree to random blood testing up until the day of the fight? I must have missed that.... Didn't Top Rank want someone from Team Mayweather to contact them when they had that deadline up on their website? Why is it different now? How could Mayweather have fought Pac instead of Ortiz?

And I've been thought the fight would happen towards the latter part of their careers... Not sure if next year is that. When Pac's ready to hang em up (or Floyd if it's before Pac) they will fight.

I agree, but by rights, both sides have responsibility in this fight not happening. So the reality is, although not the match we want, he is at least ponying up for a good fight, and with young, hungry fighter.

Unless they plan on rematches! First fight could happen next year... But I don't think a rematch will be needed so I'm not banking on that.

What a super original idea for a thread.

If the fight does happen it will be when both are in the decline in 4-5 years. We will never see a prime vs prime fight and the winner will be decided by who has aged better.

i agree...i dont think a rematch will be needed in this fight....i think we will get a decisive victory and one of the two will bow out for a while if not retire.

Your reaching dude. People were saying the exact same thing when Floyd signed to fight Mosley, and when he signed to fight Marquez. . . fight is gonna happen, it's coming, bla bla. It's not gonna happen. Floyd is coming back for a payday , and he'll go off on vacation again.

Yeah and I just don't see it happening next year because of that. I hope it does. But I think Floyd will be the victor and it will be decisive so no rematch will be necessary. I doubt Arum is ready for that. I think if he felt Pac would win he would have Pac take the tests and the fight would be made. Just my opinion...
