Roach wants Mayweather to be in a tough fight imo.

  3. Freddy is right. I will explain and break down in greater detail how Victor should approach this fight at a later date. Stay tuned.

Mayweather's fight against Ortiz offers a scouting opportunity for Roach. Hence, he wishes and hopes that it would be a competitive fight.

Translation 'I hope he gives Mayweather problems and expose a weakness so I can capitalise on that weakness because right now I'm not sure what strategy to take'

Ortiz has all the skill sets to beat floyd. The only problem is his heart and chin. I still think ortiz will win, due to pressure, southpaw, and has a decent jab which he sometimes forgets to use.

Roach thinks Ortiz has a shot against Mayweather? I guess that explains why Pacquiao is fighting Marquez and not someone who has a shot of winning. Kuddos to Pacman though for being classy throughout the fight promotions and for hooking up fighters with some retirement money.

If Floyd has any trouble with ortiz I'll be hella surprised. The southpaw stance is the only think working for Vic...other than that the style is well suited for Floyds counter punching. The other think about being off for 14 months.....that could be an issue but with Floyd, probably not. He's a guy who stays in the gym and although timing for an actual fight requires being active... Floyd is cut from a different cloth... as Naz would say.

Every fighter has a chance albeit 1%. Ortiz can land a good right hook to the jaw and follows it up with a left uppercut on the chin and it could be the beginning of the end. But really, 1% is like hitting a gut-shot straight-flush against quads on the river. It's almost a miracle if it happens :smoke

I think giving Mayweather too much respect is a bad idea. When you start backing down and giving him time to think it falls into his pace very quickly. Ortiz is the bigger stronger younger guy, he should put his life on the line in those early rounds and impose his will. make that ring rust count.

You are the same guy right who said you are betting your life's savings on Mayweather when he fights Pac ?
