WBO today writes on their website, that Mikkel Kessler has been designated as mandatory challenger for champion Robert Stieglitz.

Stieglitz has made 4 defenses since upsetting Karoly Balzsay nearly 2 years ago.

Damn it! i don't say he don't diserve it but we get less chances to see Kessler-Bute!

Stieglitz may take another optional till then; given this new situation he may be at ease with the though of losing his belt ang take a shot at glory: unification with IBF; if i were Interbox i would make Stieglitz now another offer, maybe a 50%/50% split.

Well at least it gives Sauerland some leverage in negotiations with Interbox.

How this ends is anybodys guess at this point. Sauerland is to send Interbox a counteroffer shortly.

Bute should just go to Germany to end the WBO reign of Stieglitz. Then, Kessler-Bute would be the only option.

So basically Kessler is the WBO champion. He just needs to pick up his strap at a time and place TBD.

Like i said, Stieglitz might reconsider Bute and a shot at unification in the meantime; he's got nothing to lose and if the money is right and he gets homefield advange, Bute might have something to say about this

he doesn't have many options; i doubt Kessler and Sauerland want Bute now though Kessler-Stieglitz won't happen immediately

    Pretty much.

At least it's a solid opponent to help get the rest of the rust off.

Stieglitz is quite decent actually, it's not gonna be as easy as most would think. Kessler showed good output and variety in his tune-up but was tagged with left hooks all night plus accuracy was a bit off, so I think Robert can make it a pretty good fight early, though I'd expect Mikkel to start dominating from mid-way to a stoppage.

I say let's have Kessler-Stieglitz and Bute-Pavlik first, let the winners unify and whoever comes out on top should face the Ward-Froch winner for the undisputed SMW championship.
