Round 3

Hovhannesyan is using some neat tricks, leaning off to the side and then realigning himself in the center and surging forward with right hands as Marquez throws at his phantom. Hard jabs and rights now by Marquez as he dances around on the outside. He's doing a bit better now as Hovhannesyan is mostly keeping his distance, boxing more than attacking. They get close near the end of the round and Marquez is dropped AGAIN by a left hook.

This guy is like a bigger, better skilled (in terms of conventional skill) orthodox Darchinyan.

 

Round 4

Marquez is leaning in and flurrying and jerking himself out of the pocket before Hovhannesyan can attack. Marquez is getting dangerously close now, with some near misses. Now Marquez lands the right hand. A bit of trading. Marquez is showing some hand speed and actually turning over his shots meaningfully. Good round for Marquez. Hovhannesyan briefly switches southpaw but doesn't find any more success. Marquez continues to land solid overhand rights while leaning in and out of range.

Round 5

Hovhannesyan is still getting caught clean with the right hand, as Marquez snipes him from outside. Marquez is rolling his left arm in the socket and leaning either shoulder in and out as he puts some slick moves on Hovhannesyan. Not slick enough. He is dropped AGAIN!!!!!!!! The body language of Marquez, seemingly eager to get back into the fray, belies the look of slight panic in his eyes. Hovhannesyan raises his shoulders up to his ears and stalks. Hard left hand rocket, sort of an overhand power jab out of the orthodox stance. Marquez backs him to the ropes with a 1-2, bouncing on his toes and trying to regain the nice rhythm he had early in the round before getting dropped.

That might have been a Marquez round had he not gone down.

Round 6

Hovhannesyan jabs to the body. Big right hand up top. Marquez circles, his guard drifting in front of his face. Hovhannesyan times one of its dips down to in front of his chest and pops him with a right hand to the nose. Marquez circles, looking to recover - and is brutally KTFO by a counter right hand/left hook combo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
