147 is a better weight for Ortiz. I don't even think he made weight for his last fight at 140. I've been saying since the Berto fight happened, that Ortiz is a good fighter and both Pacquiao and Floyd would deserve props for fighting him. Pacquiao should have gotten to him first. I'd have absolutely no complaints about that fight
They were set on the Marquez fight before the Mosley fight even ended. It took them about a week to get that fight signed and they didn't even try to contact Floyd even though Floyd came out with those multiple interviews indirectly calling out Manny
Theyve already tried to reach out to floyd a bunch of times, why would they keep doing it if Floyd is giving no indication he wants to fight. They know Floyd isnt serious about it, that's why they werent calling him . And as far as anyone else knew, Floyd was retired until his announced recently.
well I haven't heard anything from either camps saying they tried making an effort. Matter a fact, Floyd said in his recent interview about the 65 million dollar offer, that Bob Arum never contacted Al Haymon or him and that if he wants to talk business to contact him or Al. It may have seemed that way to Arum, but after the Mosley fight, Floyd was over hear talking about how he had his outfit ready and how he already has a signed contract for the fight. Arum could have at least put forth a little effort to get the fight made. Either way, it's probably best that Floyd got a tune up before he fought Manny. If he fights him right after Ortiz, then you guys complaining is pointless. Floyd can get and extra 40 million, more practice and us te fans can get another entertaining fight while still getting the Pacquiao fight
or he could have just gotten a tune up with Ortiz for 40 million dollars and fought Manny afterward atsch
according to reliable sources, that's how much he's guaranteed. Even if he doesn't get that much, he's going to get at least 20 million. Sounds liek a good deal to me
