His main weakness is low punch output. A high output pressure fighter is a serious threat to Floyd.

I'm glad Floyd picked Ortiz as a tune-fight. This match-up is very interesting because we would know if a southpaw pressure fighter is effective or not against Floyd.

    Welcome back Floyd!

Biggest Weaknesss......Flyweights who move up and dominate the guys he won't fight because of a promotional beef. Or career long welterweights with an ordinary past career who move up to light-middleweight/middleweight and KO a guy that he wouldn't fight.

One weakness: Floyd loses his urge whenever a serious threat to his 0 enters the scene.

    BTW,

    Chickenman returns!!!

Floyd is very suspect as a Welterweight. His best win is vs Judah who fought him off a loss. Clearly there is a reason why he must be so careful in who he fights at 147.

He has danced around Cotto & Margarito and made up a new rule to avoid Pacquiao.

I do not think he has the tools to dominate 147 right now as not only is it not his best weight he is too inactive and far removed from his prime.
He has shown the least power and most vulnerability at 147 when facing true Welters.

A fighter that has a good amount of fights under his belt at 147.

    Hatton had 1 fight
    JMM had 0 fights
    Victor Ortiz has 1 fight

If Anything Floyd should be the one moving up to fight guys at 154. What does fighting inexperienced WW's prove ?
Obviously there is knowledge most likely from sparring that taking a punch from a true 147 fighter is flirting with disaster.

It further proves that Floyd and manny are welterweights by your definition.

They are Welterweights. Exactly my point. So what does a true WW prove by fighting anything other than an opponent who himself is also a true welterweight with multiple quality wins ?

Floyd likes to fight someone coming off a decent win with hype surrounding them, and Victor fits the bill.

emmanuel has finally decided to settle the history with Juan Marquez.

That is his choice but his fans can't complain when others say he is ducking the best because numbers do not lie. It is just mathematically impossible to miss fighting Cotto, Pac, Clottey, Maragarito from 2006-2011 as a Welter.

Why didn't Manny fight Mosley in 2009 when he begged him to fight and was the number guy at welterweight?
Or why didn't he fight Margarito when he was the number one guy in the division?

A year before he was fighting at 130. His first true WW test was Cotto in 2009.

I have no problem with a fighter moving up in weight taking a few bouts to get acclimated to that weight before facing the best.

The point is Floyd has been a Welter since 2005.
