Greb not in the top 10? Is this mostly based upon resume? If so...

    Conn should be higher too.

you'd figure the guy who beat 7 LH world champs would actually be in the top 10 and not an honorable mention

edit: beaten by mcgrain, scottish *******...

over who? not Harold Johnson. Harold was a little better.

Based on a combination of the two. Sorry, Greb just couldn't quite sneak in on the 175lb list. Greb is # 1 middleweight of all time in my opinion.

Yeah, I'd say ol bob could definitely be lower. I love the pictures you chose for this thread btw, especially Charles, Conn, Tunney, and Moore.

Conn did some kind of number on the top men he faced. He beat everybody he fought at this weight. Weighing at 175lbs he beat:

    Tony Zale
    Lee Savold
    Bettina
    Lesnevich
    Apostolini
    Krieger
    Yarosz
    Corbett III

    Pretty special.

Only great fighters beat him, and he always avenged those defeats.

An overview of Greb's 175lb resume

    Jimmy Delaney
    Maxie Rosenbloom
    Gene Tunney
    Tommy Loughran
    Jimmy Slattery
    Kid Norfolk
    Tommy Gibbons
    Jeff Smith
    Battling Levinksy

    Which is outstanding.

Greb's LHW resume is almost undoubtedly better than his middleweight one as far as I can tell. Honestly, I don't know if anyone really even has a better resume at the weight period.

Harold Johnson is built. Never actually heard of him before I saw this but he is stacked.

He's a great standup boxer/mover with great stiff straight punches. Think Hopkins but a better hitter and arguably a better mover as well. Very good fighter.

Tons of his fights on youtube.

Your talking to a Conn fan here. Yes outstanding. H2H I would prob favor Conn over Tunney, Foster, and Langford. Maybe even Archie Moore.

Here is Harold Johnson's win resume at 175lb

    Archie Moore
    Ezzard Charles
    Jimmy Bivins
    Willie Pastrano- Robbery
    Doug Jones
Eddie Cotton- Very Underrated, robbed against Jose Torres for Lineal Title
    Gustav Sholz
    Henry Hank

I think Harold's quality is a bit better

Yep...I just think h2h he might find himself slightly outgunned at 160lb against the very elite 175lbers at their very best.

Cheers Swarmer :good. Only watched the tribute video but I got a Hearns vibe in the way that he threw the left hand, in both his jab and hook. Even the way he moved his body and feet reminded me a bit of Hearns. Of course Johnson is a tank and Hearns was...well a demonic noodle.
