    Bute has beaten

who was a suitable opponent for Ward,

was a better SMW than G Johnson, A Abraham and J Taylor who have all been in the S6 and is more accomplished than Dirrell with a better resume at SMW than all of them. Bute beat Andrade when twice, first time when

was #3 SMW. Froch hasnt beaten anyone rated as highly. Bute beat

who beat Steiglitz now WBO champ. Bute beat Zuniga. Consider when Cloud beat

at LHW, Cloud moved up the ratings above Dawson for that win. Brinkley was a mandatory, no point in being stripped.

I agree Bute lacks a marquee name, but a marquee name doesnt always mean a better fighter.

Magee's SMW resume is better then G. Johnsons but I would pick Johnson over Magee any day of the week.... Same with Abraham and Taylor for that matter.

Its easy to pick fighter A to beat fighter B, but unless they meet, you have to go on results and resumes, not just on hype.
Remember how after watching Calzaghe look awful with a broken hand and Lacy look excellent blasting out Pemberton, how everybody picked Lacy, or Calzaghe in a tough brawl with Bika and Kessler blasting out WBC champ Beyer for example

You may pick those fighters to beat Magee as I probably would, but at SMW Abraham is a terrible 3-3-0 and has been clearly beaten 3 times looking non competitive. Taylor at SMW is a terrible 1-3-0 and G Johnson is a terrible 6-7-0 with A Green coming off a loss as his biggest win.

Magee has a far superior SMW resume to any of them, and SMW is where they are all being rated at this time

You go double standards, you go Bute have a **** resume and you go Magee have a better resume but is not better than Johnson, Abraham and Taylor.

    ???

Who exactly did Magee beat? And saying he has a better resumé than Johnson is only possible when you narrow down the playing field to 168 only. That is really not fair as it doesn't give Johnson his proper dues. If again you only go by weights and boxrec, you'd not notice how many times Johnson in his career has been on the short end of a VERY close decision.

To me Johnson is a very good win and is at least as good as any win on Bute's record.

Kessler will take the easy road. He want no part of Bute at this point in is career.

well...Mikkel Kessler is named mandatory challenger for the WBO title and not necessarily for Robert Stieglitz. if Sauerland and Kessler don't want Bute now, i think Interbox and Bute should do their best and convince Stieglitz with a great payday to take a shot at a unification this fall; if Bute wins he would fight the winner of the Super Six and vacate WBO belt for Kessler of whatever can wants it.

    I said better SMW resume
    Johnsons SMW resume
In 13 SMW fights Johnson has lost 6 of them.
Johnson has lost at SMW to -

M Sosa who had 5 losses and 2 draws, and lost his next 2 fights after beating Johnson
Kiwanuka who had 3 losses and 2 draws, had lost his last 2 fights coming into his fight with Johnson and his fight after Johnson
Ottke 16-0 who in fairness was an outstanding SMW boxer
Vanderpool 27-1 who lost his next fight, but in fairness that was at MW to Hopkins and Vanderpool had a good run after
Branco 38-4-2 who was a world class SMW and became WBA LHW champ
Sheika who was 19-1 and lost his next fight, though in fairness that was to Calzaghe.
    Froch beat Johnson

The SMWs that Johnson has managed to beat
Campas 3-20-4 coming off of only 2 losses and won his next fight
Watson 24-16-1, Johnson was his last fight
Renteria 9-23-5 coming in, whos last 10 fight record before facing Johnson was 0-8-2
Zimmerman 15-2-0 coming in, who had lost his previous fight and the one after
A Green 29-2-0 coming in and Johnsons biggest SMW victory

Magee beat 51-2 Mads Larsen who many thought beat Ottke and the only other loss was on a cut in a fight he was winning, H Cherifi the former WBC MW champ, and a few other fair names.

Magee has been on the short end of close decisions also against world rated Tsypko and many thought he also beat world rated Reid despite some KDs

I know it was the SMW resumé. I wrote that.

Point is that his the results on boxrec in that division doesn't tell the whole story. I was well aware that you had the boxrec facts ready.

Ok. In regard to Mads Larsen, it may well be that he fought a close fight with Ottke. But that was years ago. Since then he had a lenghty fall-out with Palle and looked lacklustre all through his comeback. In the Magee fight he fought with an injured elbow and was not close to 100%.

Still the Larsen fight was a good win and Magee looked good and exiting, but to gauge him as world class based on that is a reach.
