    If you count Light heavyweights who won the heavyweight title # 1 would be Gene Tunney. Also , I think I would sqeeze Victor Galindez in there somewhere.

    No Ezzard Charles. Charles heavyweight resume is far more impressive than Gene Tunney's.

    No but Johnson weighed at or very near 175lb when he beat Ezzard Charles. Charles was still a great fighter in 1953, he went on to give Rocky Marciano 15 life or death rounds a year later.

    I think i will now be brushing up on Mr Johnson, my type of boxer. Looking at that he looks a much better mover than Hopkins.
