I've been saying for weeks now that Bute v Kessler was not going to happen. Neither camp wants it. Way too much risk. Each of them wants the mega-payday against the winner of the Super 6 (Ward). If Bute and Kessler fought the loser would be a non-player from thereon out. Bad business. Bute will fight a can and Kessler will fight Stieglitz.
Don't try and speak on Interbox's behalf because they continuously mention they want to fight the best and try to make it happen with Showtime's support. They have a guaranteed $2million per fight from Showtime and are more than happy with that. It's not about making the low risk / high reward for them. They joined Showtime to get the most compelling possible fights, end of story ! If team Kessler want to by-pass Bute now to fight Stieglietz...that's their call, not Interbox. Stephan Larouche, a high member of Interbox and Bute's coach said that they were a little frustrated from Sauerland's position right now. Why have Kessler come to Montreal to watch the last Bute fight and also mention at that time to fight the southpaw Renan St-Juste as a tune up...to finally say he's too risky and pick Bouadla the righty in order to go up in the WBO rankings ?
You work in the Bute camp? No, I didn't think so. They want no part of Kessler. Ward is the big $$$. That's why Bute has been fighting semi-cans the last few fights. Showtime is preparing for the post-Super 6 showdown.
Buddy you mention your opinion based on your pre-conceived belief. I'm telling you it's false because we see them continuoulsy on television, we hear them on the radio and last time Larouche talked..he was exasperated by the present situation. Larouche said why the hell would Kessler come to Montreal for Bute-Magee and make a verbal agreement to face Renan St-Juste the lefty, in order to prepare for Bute, then say to Interbox St-Juste is a somewhat too risky fight and decide to face a righty in Bouadla knowing the end result is moving ahead in the WBO rankings. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out..... He's got a point. Interbox want Kessler now (the fall) and so does Showtime. And by the way, yes I did get feeds in the past from them..such as Dirrell never being mentioned because of Showtime..
They continually "seek the best", but they continually feed Bute a steady diet of tomato cans. What they say and what they do are completely different things. Surely you don't trust these sleezebag promoters, only a completely naive boxing fan would.
It takes two to tango. Narrow minded fans are the ones that have no clue about what's going on behind closed doors + completely disregard the fact that options were limited up to not long ago.
Again, Bute v kessler is bad business for each camp. I don't believe that either really wants the fight (and I don't mean the fighters themselves - I mean the 'team' or 'management'. I'm sure both Kessler and Bute would love to have at it). They want Ward. If Bute and Kessler fight, the loser will never get Ward and the big $$. It's just common business sense.
You must have missed part of what I said prior in this thread.... Bute vs Kessler is better business for Interbox, Bute & Montreal-Quebec, because of Kessler's past fight with Eric Lucas, not to mention there's bad blood and history behind Sauerland & Interbox (Lucas being robbed in Germany against Beyer). It means much more to casual fans in Quebec than you know or understand right now...no disrespect. Again, I'm sure both fighters want the fight, but I meant Interbox wants it now ! They actually want Kessler as much or more as Ward !!
He had the chance to face undefeated 24-0 Librado Andrade. Ducked. He had the chance to face undefeated 43-0 Calzaghe. Ducked. He had the chance to face undefeated 22-0 Dimitri Sartison. Ducked. He had the chance to face undefeated 20-0 Andre Ward. Ducked. He had the chance to face undefeated 26-0 Carl Froch. Ducked. He then has the chance to face undefeated 28-0 Lucian Bute. Ducked. The pattern continues. When will Kessler ever step up and take a challenge? :bart
What do you know about Interbox? Do you talk to the boss at the weigh in? Do you listen to all their interviews here in Quebec? Do you know Stéphane Larouche? Do you know people in his entourage? What do you know to be so sure of yourself? Nothing? That's what I thought. Sauerland sems not to want Bute, or is just playing his cards. Interbox and Bute want Kessler badly.
You're talking about a limited market (Quebec). I'm talking global. There is far, far more money to be made fighting the winner of the Super 6, globally.
