Oh, jPab - Molitor's somewhat shot now, but he'd easily handle Burns even now.

Why? For saying Ricky Burns is a good fighter & deserves credit? If that makes me a disgrace to Scotland? Then guilty as charged daftaylor:lol:

No, for defending the shameless matchmaking and somehow deciding Martinez was the top guy at the weight. Especially considering his ONLY notable win was over Cook, who you felt didn't deserve the victory against Arthur (another of your finest hours of hugging, incidentally).

The fact you take credence from what that twat says tells me an awful ot about you. Tell me please, how Martinez was the number 1. Some actual reasoning here please, and not some stupid comment. Try to actually justify the claim that Martinez was the best.

    I'll be waiting.

Hmm, not sure about that. Judging from the third Ndlovu fight, he's more than somewhat shot, and I doubt he'd be successful if he fought anybody half-decent in the division Burns resides in, two above the one he's at now.

Maybe you think Laryea & Cook are easy fights, but I dont. Laryea spanked Apples, & apples is a tremendous talent who will come back, & Laryea would beat any other SFW in Britain, Ricky is turning into a true world class operator now, & thats how he made it look easy. Dont be fooled daftaylor. Mind if I call you dafty for short?;)

As for Nicky Cook? As we all know he was outboxing Martinez until he got caught with some huge shots. That hapens, its boxing. & yes, I thought Arthur did enough to get the nod over Cook, and remember Arthur beat a young Ricky Burns too, cos Arthur was a talented fighter. I dont see what any of this has to do with our debate though??? If you are justifying Cook as a poor defence cos I thought the guy who beat Ricky Burns beat Cook also?
Well what can I say except... nah I dont even need to say anything more.

Listen, Im sick of hearing this bull**** that the best win on Martinez record was against Nicky Cook. Martinez had solid wins against the likes of Fransisco Lorenzo, Daniel jiminez & Santos Benavides. These guys might not be big names, but they are good solid fighters & IMO better than Nicky Cook.

He wasn't the number one in the division though. And that's what I questioned you on, not his record or anything else. Try not to use fat Dan to back you up either.

Martinez was only #1 and some beast in the minds of the Brit forum. Nowhere else. He'd done practically nothing in world terms.

As for Joseph Laryea, laughable. He wouldn't have beaten Anthony Crolla. It was only because Appleby fought like a novice that couldn't deal with a basic jab that he got that chance, and even then it was shameless matchmaking. Just like this fight with Nicky Cooked.

Linares, Uchiyama and maybe Aoh would all beat Burns i reckon, better pure boxers than him and Ricky would find Argenis Mendez very tricky too. What Rafael says isn't gospel either, gets a lot of stuff wrong too.

Martinez had a tough struggle with a very limited fighter in Muniga ( sp? ) He was never the best super feather in the world. Mendez has been robbed of one title shot, would be cheap to get over and would be a legitimate challenge. Thats the fight that should have been made but wasnt, because Mendez would box the ears off Ricky Burns. Even if Ricky fought British level fighters like Gary Sykes or Buckland it would be an improvement on what hes facing
